only a shadow (revisited)

I’m so afraid that I’m being too brave in a lonely cafe sitting with the most beautiful girl in the world,
It’s been a long, long day,
It’s been in a long, long time since I’ve felt this way,

It gives me the warmest chills, all the slightest thrills,
Yeah I forgot the way emotion really feels,
I forgot to keep my heart in check, but last I checked my heart had gone away so what the fuck is this?

The way that she puts her thoughts to words is poetry,
She says all the things I wanna hear,
The way that she looks at something far away when she explains what pains her here-

It worries me,

When I feel too alone in bed,

I can’t stop thinking at a million miles an hour when I’m with her but I can’t keep up, 
I try to memorize the movements in her eyes and all the times they settle on mine, 
But what gives me the right?

I don’t even know her,
We’re not even close, but we’re sitting quite close,
And with every moment that she speaks I feel it pull her close to me,

And I’m fucking terrified

It's been a while since I released anything.  So here' a song I wrote a while back!  I've been writing a whole bunch of new material lately that I've been so excited about that I forget about some of my favorite older songs I've written.  I wrote this one back in 2016 about the one that got away.  My wonderful friend Akriza and I have been collaborating a lot lately and one night we decided to play with his gear and try recording acoustically and I didn't realize he was recording this sessions haha.  I hope you guys enjoy!
