We welcome Tunisian producer Different Ray to our label who has curated an EP of absolute quality for us, featuring remixes from Love Over Entropy and Pablo Bolivar.

Kicking off with the skippy, floating title track Echoes, Ray starts as he means to go on.

Beautiful bells chime and echo over dreamy pads, giving the song an emotional depth that is anchored by bassy breakbeats and driving hi-hats.

Different Ray immediately follows up his opener with more heat, this time in the form of Odyssey, a seven-minute weapon that punches with rubbery, rolling basslines, and synth stabs.

The track constantly builds tension before releasing, taking plenty of twists and turns as it grows in intensity. The irresistible bassline remains a constant, however, pushing the song forward and quickly becoming an absolute earworm that you’ll keep coming back to.

The first remix comes courtesy of Pablo Bolivar, who takes the softer elements of Echoes and pairs them with marching, dubby kick drums to create an altogether different vibe from the original track.

Last, but by no means least, is Love Over Entropy’s rumbling take on Odyssey. With crackling, industrial synths and thundering drums, this stripped-back take on Different Ray’s original cut is guaranteed to delight dancefloors around the world.

The Letters Of EP, from Estonian father-son duo about : river, features three original cuts from the pair, each unique but tied together by about : river’s ability to compose surging synth melodies and club-ready progressive beats.

Opening the project up is L, the first of the letters referred to in the title. L provides over seven minutes of beautiful chord movement and driving bassline, setting the tone immediately. The feeling is nostalgic, melancholy, and straight from the heart.

O, as the second track is titled, slows things down to a stroll, before introducing stunning strings and a meandering synth line that seems to playfully float in and out of the listener’s consciousness. 

On the final cut, V, the duo serve up a slice of bouncy dance music complete with a rubbery bassline and keyboard stabs that is part-disco, part-house. The upbeat song is crying out for the dancefloor, and will bring some heat to clubs around the world over the colder months.

We have enlisted B.A.X. and VieL on remix duties, and they both offer their takes on the opening track L. First up is B.A.X., who spends the first two minutes of their interpretation building to an irresistible crescendo before dropping in to the beat. 

The remainder of the track revels in about : river’s gorgeous instrumentation and melody writing, delivering a memorable cut of progressive beauty.

VieL, meanwhile, offers up a take that is more heavy on percussion, but retains many of the original’s best melodic qualities to create something quite unique.

Consciousness is the rippling surface of the mind’s sea, and what lies beneath is all that matters.

Our latest release sees us welcome Scottish duo ‘Pentland Park’ to our artist roster, who deliver their hard-hitting EP ‘Conscious’.

The EP is filled with eight tracks of pure, head-knocking heat, featuring remixes from Fort Romeau, Lake People, Brigade, and Benjamin Fröhlich.

The project opens with the eponymous track Conscious, a delicious serving of emotional, club-ready breakbeat. The record builds anticipation with a floating synth line before dropping into chunky breaks, underscored by spacious 808s and piano stabs.

From there things only get heavier.

6am Again does exactly what it says on the tin. Woozy, intoxicating, and melancholic, the track sounds exactly how the afters feel, with scattered, frenetic drums and a wonky bassline overlaid with a wistful saxophone sample.

It perfectly evokes the beauty of that nervous, hazy space between night and day.

Next, Pentland Park takes us on a progressive journey through the sounds of I’m Glad I Answered, with an earworm of a melody that loops throughout the song and buries its way into the listener’s head. The wobbly bass teased in the break just adds another layer to this house cut that shows off the duo’s versatility and sense of what the dancefloor needs.

Speaking of what the dancefloor needs, Satellite Auction comes roaring in next, with all the right ingredients. A thumping kick drum. Check. Chunky, rubbery bass notes. Check. Moody vocal stabs. Check.

The remixes open with Lake People’s take on Conscious, before segueing into Benjamin Fröhlich’s completely different spin on the same track.

The EP is rounded out by Fort Romeau’s interpretation of I’m Glad I Answered, and Brigade’s remix of 6am Again.

Berlin-based, Franco-German producer and DJ Franz Matthews, alongside well-known happiness coach Jonathan Lehmann, have crafted a thumping, hypnotic EP that combines music and the practice of guided meditation as one.

We’ve collated remixes from a spread of some of the greatest minds in electronic music today, including Aera, The Organism and Milio, to create their unique interpretations of this pioneering project of mind and music.

Franz Matthews’s original brings a complex web of interlocking percussion rhythms that develop with unfolding synths throughout the guided meditation to reach a soul-shaking climax. Transporting us on a journey through the mind with a captivating piece of musical storytelling throughout.

Aera steps up with the first remix, carving out a spacious story that casts the spotlight onto the spoken word vocals from Lehman, combining elegant rhythms with contrasting layers of subtle harmonic movement and mind-altering synth melodies that engage the inner recesses of the brain.

The Organism takes things into a more aggressive, percussive direction, using his archetypal sound to traverse across the planes of your mind. Off-kilter synth tones collide across a punchy Moog style bassline and grooving disco-tinged drum machine grooves underneath.

Finally, Milio brings his distinctive club sounds to the blend. Mixing glitching rhythms with wandering melody lines that integrate elements of minimalism and techno into a joyous and playful reworking. Milio’s distinct ability to craft memorable lines that are equally unique and quirky closes this superb remix package off with finesse.

Pentland Park consists of Rjay and Kris, who formed the alias after holding down residencies with their respective projects at Glasgow’s Don’t Drop party series back in 2013. Since then, they’ve played renowned UK venues such as Sub Club, Wire and The Cause, as well as Burg Schnabel in Berlin. Having previously inaugurated La La's Brand New Records with an eponymous EP, the duo now head to Everything Will Be OK for their biggest body of work to date, unveiling four original tracks backed by four remixes across their 'Conscious' EP.

Opening track ‘Conscious’ transports the listener back in time with rich arpeggios, nostalgic pads and a distinct garage shuffle. It’s filled to the brim with feeling, emotive vocals piercing its melodic veil, with Mule Musiq and Innervisions artist Lake People remixing the track first. In his version, he introduces whirling breakbeats and additional layers of vibrant melodics, before Permanent Vacation’s Benjamin Fröhlich provides another remix of the opener and turns ‘Conscious’ into a modern prog house track, gating its vocals and adding an infectious new bassline.

Classy early morning number ‘6am Again’ then introduces sliced breaks, racy lazers and jazzy samples, which in turn is remixed by Brigade, who provides a deeply atmospheric and lo-fi ambient mix of the track. Next up, slow-burner ‘I’m Glad I Answered’ enters with dubbed synths and a steady rhythm, blasts of melody occasionally intervening. Running Back and Live At Robert Johnson veteran Fort Romeau turns up the dial in his version, adding chunky drums and trippy pads. ‘Satellite Auction’ is the fourth and final track by the promising Pentland Park project, a feel-good chugger rounding off this evocative release with quirky arps and robust drums.

Our second premiere of the day comes from Glasgow pair Pentland Park, who feature on Everything Will Be OK for their biggest body of work, ‘Conscious,’ which includes four original tracks and four remixes. We premiere a misty jazz-inspired groove that is firing from all cylinders with soaring breaks and deep-set subs.

Pentland Park is the Glaswegian duo of Rjay and Kris, who formed the alias after holding down residencies with their respective projects at Glasgow’s Don’t Drop party series back in 2013. Since then, the pair have featured on lineups across the UK’s most sought-after club spaces including Sub Club, Wire, and The Cause, as well as Berlin’s Burg Schnabel.

Running off the back of the debut EP on La La‘s Brand New Records, the duo now head to Everything Will Be OK with a statement of intent as they put forward four original tracks backed by four remixes across their The project sees Lake People, Benjamin Fröhlich, Fort Romeau’s and Brigade on remix duties.

We premiere ‘6am Again’, a murky trip through a smoke-filled basement in the early hours as Pentland Park fires across a flurry of menacing breakbeats and gutwrenching sub-bass. Although the track is powered by brute force, it remains hazy and somniferous as blissful pads slide across grisly low-end power and jazz samples ooze through the system. It’s got one foot in the chill-out area and the other cemented on the dancefloor, but wherever or however you absorb these frequencies you’re in for a sweet treat.

Consciousness is the rippling surface of the mind’s sea, and what lies beneath is all that matters.

Our latest release sees us welcome Scottish duo ‘Pentland Park’ to our artist roster, who deliver their hard-hitting EP ‘Conscious’.

The EP is filled with eight tracks of pure, head-knocking heat, featuring remixes from Fort Romeau, Lake People, Brigade, and Benjamin Fröhlich.

The project opens with the eponymous track Conscious, a delicious serving of emotional, club-ready breakbeat. The record builds anticipation with a floating synth line before dropping into chunky breaks, underscored by spacious 808s and piano stabs.

From there things only get heavier.

6am Again does exactly what it says on the tin. Woozy, intoxicating, and melancholic, the track sounds exactly how the afters feel, with scattered, frenetic drums and a wonky bassline overlaid with a wistful saxophone sample.

It perfectly evokes the beauty of that nervous, hazy space between night and day.

Next, Pentland Park takes us on a progressive journey through the sounds of I’m Glad I Answered, with an earworm of a melody that loops throughout the song and buries its way into the listener’s head. Speaking of what the dancefloor needs, Satellite Auction comes roaring in next, with all the right ingredients. A thumping kick drum. Check. Chunky, rubbery bass notes. Check. Moody vocal stabs. Check.

The remixes open with Lake People’s take on Conscious, before segueing into Benjamin Fröhlich’s completely different spin on the same track.

The EP is rounded out by Fort Romeau’s interpretation of I’m Glad I Answered, and Brigade’s remix of 6am Again.

Up until now, we have visited Greece in our Series on three separate occasions and we are returning to this mystical country once again for the next story in our journey.

Today we travel to a beautifully shaped metropolis filled with neon lights, old-fashioned manners and cutesy cartoon characters, don't blink, otherwise you'll miss something fascinating. Telling his story is Tokyo's very own Hiroyuki Kajino, and with a career that has spanned across almost 40 years, we are certain your horizons will be broadened during this tale. 

Before many of us had even stepped foot into a club, Hiroyuki had been sharing his mesmerising sounds across Japan and USA and paving the way to become one of Tokyo's most exciting and influential artists in house music.
