Superposition is a phenomenon seen at really small scales where a particle seems to be in two places or more simultaneously until it is measured/observed.

The best metaphor I can think of is: If positions were colors the particle is both black and white until someone looks at it and sees which once it really is. Until then its position is just a probability. You could also say it's metaphorically gray.

Observing the particle is "collapsing the wave function" basically making it "choose" and reveal its true location.

When applying this to consciousness you could say that human experience appears to be both limited and separate while at the same time infinite and indivisible. In life we can get closer to shifting awareness towards the infinite position but some of the limits always remain. Even the most enlightened sage still can't see further than the limits of their eyes and has to eat for their specific body.
