Actor, musician, artist, and puppeteer David Liebe Hart has been a cult personality for decades. In 1988, he followed the guidance of his Sunday School teacher Jim Henson and began producing The Junior Christian Science Bible Lesson Program on public access television.  Eventually the show caught the eye of Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, who cast Liebe Hart to sing his bizarre songs on their hit Cartoon Network show, Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show, Great Job!.  David’s offbeat, but always sincere lyrics about women, milk, and an alien race called The Korendiands became an immediate hit with viewers.
     
Since being “discovered” by Tim and Eric in 2006, David Liebe Hart has performed to sell-out crowds with the comedians, worked with John C. Reilly and Jonah Hill, and appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live.  In 2010, Liebe Hart and frequent collaborator Adam Papagan decided to put a band together to exploreDavid’s newly acquired taste for punk music.  Since then, they have toured extensively, performing at CMJ, Fun Fun Fun Fest, and SXSW, and sharing the stage with such diverse acts as Touché Amore, Thee Oh Sees, and Shonen Knife.
    
Now, The David Liebe Hart Band is set to release their debut album, and David’s first in a professional recording studio.  Songs about getting kicked out of church and aliens that disapprove of pornography give insights on how this unusual, yet enlightened man thinks.  When asked to describe his music, Liebe Hart responds simply, “Peace, love, and punk rock”.
