My song "Louvre” represents the part of me that's learning to be more vulnerable with the people I love and who have proven, by their trust and track record, to truly love me. By the same token, however, being a cautious, closed-book by nature, I am still careful to keep certain parts of myself and my story hidden. A louvre is a structure designed to allow air or light in, while keeping sunshine or moisture out. In other words, it's open to some elements, but acts as a barrier to others, just as I, despite how tight a bond may be, choose to meet people halfway. Some may call it "holding back," while I call it wisdom.

This song is a representation of the conversations had between me and the version of myself that writes freely in my diary. I really like that girl. She gets me.

Small Talk

I wrote this song as a reminder to find joy in even the simplest things. Snuggling down in bed & watching your favorite shows, the warmth of sunshine on your skin after being indoors for most of the day, treating yourself to something sweet after passing a test you’ve prepared so much for, or even just the times when nothing’s happening, and it’s just you and your thoughts.
If we live life waiting for the next big moment, we’ll always miss all the little ones that, funny enough, often bring us the most joy.

"Shelf Life" was written during a hella low time for me. I was experiencing some intense feelings of bitterness after ending a toxic relationship and helplessly cried out to God for Him to take this bitterness away so that I can HATE the person’s behaviour, but still love them (not slander) as a human being.
