However, the ‘Keep Climate On’ option turns off the car and most of its functions except for the heating or cooling functionality but in ‘Party Mode’ it seems like while the car is parked the center touchscreen and ambient lighting will keep working for the party animals or campers. The battery pack and electric motor slot into the space vacated by the old oily bits, so in theory it will be simple to restore the car to petrol power if you ever want to bring it back to its original status. Power is expected to be in the 450hp range, giving the car the ability to sprint to 100km/h in around four seconds, and on to a top speed north of 280km/h. Both are also struggling to gain ground in China, the world’s largest auto market, and have been slower than some rivals in developing autonomous vehicles. An alliance with Fiat Chrysler could give Renault access to the American market, where it currently has no presence. It was not clear how Nissan, Renault’s partner of nearly 20 year, would fit into a tie-up with Fiat Chrysler. Compared with its rivals G.M. and Ford, Fiat Chrysler has been slower to develop electric and self-driving vehicles, and may now need partners to share the costs of research and development. The news comes from an internal memo that was leaked to Electrek, and it reportedly applies to about 17% of the automaker's Supercharger stations – 8% will have the limits enforced at all times, while another 9% will be limited on holidays and will adjust based on usage." according to Autoblog: "According to Tesla's Supercharger website, "Superchargers deliver energy rapidly, and gradually slow down as the battery fills. First revealed to the world in September 2017 as the Urban EV Concept, the E is a rear-wheel-drive electric hatchback designed to compete with the Renault Zoe. Unlike the Zoe, however, the brand new Honda will get retro styling and a high-tech cabin, as well as cutting-edge mirror technology." reports Motor1.com: "The so-called "Side Camera Mirror System" is similar to the virtual door mirrors seen on top-of-the-range versions of Audi’s new E-Tron electric SUV, and uses rear-facing cameras and small screens in the cabin to show drivers the view down the car’s flanks. In the case of the Honda, the cameras sit in housings just below the window line, with their images fed back to six-inch screens at either end of the dashboard. And the advantages don’t stop there. Honda also notes that the cameras are more aerodynamic than conventional mirrors, improving the car’s efficiency and range. And there are safety advantages, too, with a choice of "normal" or "wide" views available for the driver to select. The wide view is said to reduce blind spots by half, while even normal view provides a 10-percent improvement. Honda is also planning to integrate the reversing camera system with the mirrors, projecting guidelines on to the six-inch displays to help drivers maneuver. Since the Nissan Leaf launched in 2010, much of the marketing has focused on its features. As the Leaf continues its reign as the top-selling electric vehicle to date, despite sagging sales early this year and competition from the likes of Tesla, it is shifting to more of a storytelling approach. NIO had not previously set a ship date for the sedan, known as the ET7, but the company’s founder and CEO William Li said it is postponed during an investor call on Tuesday."  &nbsp; ...

The automaker says it's considering both the Tesla Factory in California and Gigafactory in Nevada. Because Model Y shares a lot of parts with the Model 3, Fremont could be a wise choice, although the factory is getting cramped. Unofficial sources say that Tesla "has barely begun to place orders for new equipment to manufacture the Model Y. Last quarter, there were many expedites fees and routing inefficiencies that led to higher than expected delivery costs. Data from Zap-Map shows that as of 22 May, there are 8,471 charging locations across the UK, hosting a total of 13,613 charging devices. In contrast, as of the end of April, there are currently only 8,400 petrol stations in the UK, a figure which is continuing to decline. There has been huge growth in the UK public EV charge point market in the past 12 months, with the number of locations increasing 57% in that time.  &nbsp;  https://www.zap-map.com/ev-charging-sites-outnumber-petrol-stations-for-first-time/ &nbsp; CHINA-MADE TESLA MODEL 3 PRICE ANNOUNCEMENT EXPECTED ON FRIDAY  "Bloomberg reports that Tesla is expected to announce prices of the China-made base Tesla Model 3 on Friday, May 31." reports InsideEVs: "The base Model 3 will be produced at the Tesla Gigafactory 3 in Shanghai, which allows it to avoid the 15% import tax and catch onto Chinese subsidies for New Energy Vehicles. Currently, the cheapest Model 3 in China starts at 377,000 yuan (≈$54,542). Bloomberg says that the new price could be 300,000-350,000 yuan (≈$43,400-50,634) before subsidies.
