Unbeyond Anthologies are pleased to present LUCID’s solo debut on the label in the form of her new EP, “Found Footage”.

Opening on a stark and desolate note with “on a dark and stormy night” that sets the tone for what is to come, this project mixes ghastly deathstep atmospheres and production with a thrilling retro futuristic horror theme. Songs such as “Good Intentions” and “Foreshadowing” throw their weight around with devastating impact, a seamless blend of old and new sonic textures.

“ALARM” slows down the pace with heaving sound design and wailing melodies, the tempo mirrored by the title track with its sinuous growls and anthemic synthwave leads. “Survive” contains frazzled flows and dizzying trap percussion, while the closer “Midnight (Credits)” ends on a delightfully ghoulish downtempo drop.

“My first EP since ‘BLOODSHED’ in 2021, and with a much more in-depth tracklist and theme. Speaking of, when starting the title track, I was very into GREYLOCK, an online analog horror with some found footage segments, with the title track directly themed to tape 10 of the series. The more general musical ideas and tone started finding their way into more of my projects of the time and continued to be fleshed out until I collected the songs and made the theme more concrete.” said LUCID. “Although not personally attached to me like my albums, I do find this to be a very important step in my music, so I hope it shows. CURRENT VALUE returns to OTHERCIDE RECORDS for the release of his FAR LAYER EP, which displays the furthest expanses of his sonic realm in true devotion to its title. With his past on OTHERCIDE RECORDS marked by 2016’s Rethink EP, CURRENT VALUE’s recent efforts have seen releases on labels such as Blackout, Invisible, & Methlab Recordings. Now returning to OTHERCIDE RECORDS, CURRENT VALUE debuts a four track EP that carries his aberrantly innovative sound further onwards to new boundaries.  DISPELLING FEAR opens the EP with reverent string swells that soar alongside a ethereal vocal before diving at full force into the track’s torrential drumbeat. Within, they are twisted and warped by the volatile harmonic environment within into surging basslines and oscillating highs in equal measure. The titular FAR LAYER immediately discards with any semblance of convention, opting instead to create a an idyllic sonic landscape that hangs effortlessly in the air. Driven by a delicate piano arpeggio, the track swells calmly to a lush crescendo before fading into nothingness with similar grace. Following such a melodic interlude, FERROMAGNETIC provides harsh metallic textures which create an exercise in contrast, wrapped tightly around the track’s pulverizing drums for a devastating mechanical fusion. The EP then closes with PHOTOELECTRIC, which doubles down on the distortion of its predecessor with its dissonant bell tones and shredded bassline ending the look into CURRENT VALUE’s FAR LAYER with a decisive tone.  FAR LAYER thus explores a diverse range of sonic environments, from its most beautiful melodics to its most visceral basslines all of which are unified by the technical precision and otherworldly tones of CURRENT VALUE as they transmit via OTHERCIDE RECORDS.

Deep within the woods, the mouth of a cave uttered forth a haunting melody wrought of metal on stone and the twisted yowls of a beast so surely gone mad. It’s limestone passageways warped these sounds, reverberating them off of their walls and through the cool underground air that served as a carrier for their transmission. None nearby knew what lay within, only that such sounds warranted nothing but the forbiddance of the entire clearing near the cave, lest one who strayed there be taken by their demonic influence. Thus it was, thus it had been, and thus, prayed the nearby inhabitants, it always would be. Then, the noises stopped.

The quiet was celebrated at first, a sign of old demons exorcised by the faith of the local population. Within the furthest reaches of the cave however was not a demon expelled, but rather a demon reborn. Slowly, a lithe feline form came to its feet, shaking off both the chains that had bound it and portions of its own rotted flesh in a single ripple of its primal musculature. It moved almost silently through the cave, save for the occasional scratch of claw against rock as it contorted its monstrous form to squeeze through the narrow passageways of its ages old prison, which shore of yet more of its rotted flesh as a toll for passage. Driven the burning cold of a long forgotten grudge, the beast clambered forwards, vowing to itself to slaughter those who had bound it here so long ago. There within the cave, emerging from darkness pitch black, the beast’s predatory yowl was that of the ZOMBIE CATS.

Following the recent debut of their eponymous imprint label and the release of their album “Mutation”, the ZOMBIE CATS return to EATBRAIN and lead the EATBRAIN horde on a sonic prowl with CHAINS, and EP bound by the feline frenzy of their signature sound.
