My mother was a switchboard operator back in the day. She was also gifted at painting, albeit not something she could pursue for a living. Here, I was kinda imagining her sinking into a daydream at work, one shaped by all the mechanical noises around her, before slowly drifting back to reality.

The melody, like the wounds of history, is given room to decay and seep.

To this end, the audio has been degraded via a Sony Walkman : P

Vigilant for the Dawn of Signs

The cover of this track features the Devil's Bit, a mountain in Co Tipperary, Ireland. According to local legend, the devil took a huge bite out of the mountain (centre of the picture) while fleeing the mythological hero Cúchulainn. 

This was the inspiration: childhood memories of such tales, where huge striding monsters could terraform a flat and lifeless earth.

Started with the idea of a tiger in a jungle setting. 

But as the natural morphed into the synthetic, so this jungle could just as easily be anything you want it to be. 

And sure why not? Who really can frame all this fearful symmetry? 🐯
