Jill Scott - Golden (Exale/Okean Remix)

The winner of the Beatport Play remix competition for NYC based duo The Chainsmokers "Let You Go" was Italian producer Edward Bloom, with his dramatic rework of the original with epic vocal breakdowns and a dynamic progressive house drop. The first runner-up was Boston-based Exale, who concocted an indie-electronic take on the song by using a myriad of pop elements to create a funky, bouncing backdrop to the love sick vocals. The second runner-up was 16 year old Arpex from the Neatherlands, whose hybrid treatment bridges tropical house breakdowns with a bass-heavy future house drop.

Teddy Swims - Bad Dreams (Exale Remix)

My tribute to the late great David Sanborn is out now. I had this idea of making Maputo into a vocal song. My friend and amazing songwriter Brandon Orr helped me realize this (double)vision by writing original lyrics and singing on this Afro-smooth jazz-house rendition of Maputo. 
The original was recorded in 1986 by David Sanborn and Bob James on the album Double Vision. The original instrumental song was written by Marcus Miller who also played bass on the original 1986 recording. 
David was my first biggest inspiration on the alto saxophone and is part of my musical DNA for sure. I was lucky enough to see him play at Blue Note NYC on August 8, 2023. He passed away on May 12, 2024. 
Rest easy, David. Your music will always live on! ❤️🎷🕊️
