Number 40 in the Theory Therapy series is a mossy bed of iridescent electronics and ambient textures by Berlin-based DJ Akimat. We absolutely love the Aussie-born selector’s taste in music and the way they craft mixes around specific themes. This one was inspired by “intricate, gentle nature in the forests of Bavaria” and features a bunch of recent favourites from Concave Reflection, dj hexscrew and Ultrafog. There’s also a forthcoming one from our label hidden in there too.

London-based sound artist and DJ Jin Synth creates immersive sonic experiences by seamlessly blending ambient elements. Her artistry combines diverse textures and experimental layers into a unique sonic tapestry, using synthesizers, modular setups, and microphones to capture the world's frequencies. Through DJ performances, Jin crafts ethereal, meditative soundscapes that transport audiences, viewing CDJs & turntables as instruments for improvisational exploration. Her academic background drives her to delve into sonic art, crafting instruments and DIY microphones to push the boundaries of sound and deliver innovative, immersive musical experiences. Witnessing her mesmerising performance at Mostra Festival in 2023, it was a matter of time to feature her on Unrush, where we proudly showcase her podcast today...

Operating in the abstract regions of techno, Italian-born Berlin-based Marco Shuttle is known for his eclectic and experimental approach and his mesmerizing and narrative flow. What ties his creative work together is a focus on abstract yet organic textures, a sound which takes cues from jazz and musique concrète as much as it does from acid house and Detroit techno.

In this first hour of a longer session he shares his signature cosmic vision in a more relaxed listening setting, making it a very special, personal listen.
