Woo! I actually finished an entry for a contest for once.

The initial idea behind the song comes from a sentiment I've seen from many players regarding the Lotus: even though she's guided us, she's also hid things from us. Potentially she's hiding other things from the Tenno, and no one really knows too much about her (it's only through circumstance that we come to find out snippets of her past).

This, however, evolved into a question regarding Tenno existence- maybe something answered within game, and maybe some lore slipped from my mind- but the question of the Tenno's past wound up becoming the focus of this song (haha focus, get it? ha wow). We know about some things, but not really how or why they were in the circumstances that caused them to become Tenno.

This song focuses on one potential Tenno (of which there could be many) post Second Dream quest, who is seeking the answers seemingly forgotten.

It's finished! My new Warframe fan-song, "The Dread", a song about and/or referring to Warframe's "Stalker" character and (new players) Tenno defending themselves against the unfamiliar threat.

Compared to Codex, which I thought was sort of high-tempo electronic rock, The Dread definitely feels more like rock than just electronic anime-opening music. I had a lot of fun tuning DEX for this- I think it shows off his powerful capabilities well. (Also featuring, the one breath sample I've recorded for DEX so far. I'm so lazy lmao)

This is my third Warframe-based song, and it's content matter is quite deep in the game (like, extremely recent story-release wise), so I'm not going to talk about it much for the sake of spoiling it to those unaware, but this is a song written from the Operator's perspective post-Apostasy Prologue. 

With that, once again I've attempted to write a song that addresses the lore at this point without constricting the lyrical meaning to the game's playerbase- as much as it is about Warframe, I've always felt that songs that over-state the game's lore are a bit... patronizing to the listener. That said, I do name-drop the apostasy, so.... 

Compared to Codex, I didn't really use the selected samples "musically", but rather just to add atmosphere. They're EQ'd and quiet compared to the music, but you'll hear them quite prominently when they sound off.
