"Dribbling” is Tadleeh’s second Ep, which is now released on NKISI’s label INITIATION.
It’s a four tracks record that involves abstract concepts as well as material fields. The journey begins into a no-where-place in the Universe. Where far drum machine signals meet the sound of a classic guitar. Despite the sweetness of certain points of life, we have to move through different hurdles to generate new spirits. We have to pone our radicalisms into a new point of view. This record runs across sad synths and suffered chants touching familiar tribalism and techno dub beats, converting the initial fear into a club response.

Plasma Sources is proud to present nosync’s Soundsystem Music, an EP which provides a fresh perspective on the high-fidelity and sci-fi influenced electronic music the imprint is known for. 

nosync’s work sits in a truly unique space in the sound system/club music-o-sphere. This in large part is due to his heavy deployment of progressive metal instrumentation, from chugging walls of overdriven guitars to relentless double-time kick patterns. On paper, utilising this palette in a club-music context may seem like an impossible task. However, where others might see a chasm of disparity, nosync has deftly identified the bridge connecting these two genres, seeing in these two landscapes the same desired emotional state - despite the different methodologies used to achieve this. 

“This record attempts to make the case that the essence of what makes these sounds so obsessively loved are one and the same. Gripping dramatism and intensity are the overlapping themes that I have attempted to bring out here, through the record’s sound design and film-like structure.”

Indeed Soundsystem Music as a whole feels wildly cinematic and is as much an exercise in atmosphere creation as music for sound systems, with nosync citing the video game Dead Space and its sequel as key influences for this body of work. From the claustrophobic, elasticated wind chamber of ‘Traced’ to the broken choir voices and FiS-esque ambient abyss of ‘Dead Land’, nosync has expertly matched the pace and atmosphere of these hugely iconic and utterly terrifying video games and channeled them into a purely sonic experience. 

The metal influences nosync brings to the table slice through the entire corpus of Soundsystem Music, although the linkage is perhaps at its most clear on ‘Airlock’, which features a full-on death-metal guitar chugging through the first half. In perhaps the most surprising switch-up of the entire EP, things suddenly twist into a guttural underwater club track a third of the way through. 

nosync’s love for the vast ecosystem of club/soundsystem music also comes through loud and clear on this release, from the grime-inflected leads and hyper-detailed polyrhythmic noise workouts of ‘Unregistered Hypercam’ to the reverberated metal clangs of ‘Kauket’s Arena’ which feels like witch-house on steroids - the soundtrack to some final boss battle with some type of nightmare-demon-entity. 

nosync has achieved something unique with Soundsystem Music. By drawing together a hugely disparate corpus of influences and pummelling them into a noise-fuelled apocalyptic aberration, he has created a sound which feels consistent, fully his own, and in many places, utterly dread-inducing.

Chinese multidisciplinary artist Tianzhuo Chen, aka ASIAN DOPE BOYS, joins forces with Berlin-based musician Alex Wang for the 17th episode of Kuboraum’s Digital Sound Residency, unveiling ‘Burning Sage’—a dystopian blend of noise, nu-metal, and sci-fi-infused sound fragments.

Tianzhuo Chen, a.k.a AsianDopeBoys, has never known how to define himself. As an artist who engages with various 'happenings' of liminality, he enjoys crashing, merging, infusing, mutating, teasing, substituting, and playing with boundaries. More accurately, he (re-)invents boundaries and then destroys them. Trained as a swimmer, Tianzhuo is drawn to the undercurrents of existence and the benthic fables of life and death, often finding himself adrift in the tectonic wonders of unknown lands. To explore such tantric knowledge and the obscure wisdom of the unknown, he observes, draws, collects, crafts, installs, edits, interweaves, creates, mixes, and remixes, all in an attempt to sense, capture, and share the fleeting beauty of life, which is nothing less than magic and ecstasy.

Selected solo exhibitions to date include Illuminated Spirits at TANK Shanghai, The Shepherd at Kyoto Experiment and Trance at M Woods Museum in Beijing. Following a delay of several years, his ambitious 12-hour theatrical piece TRANCE – realized with an international ensemble – has premiered at leading performance venues worldwide, including at the Sonic Acts Biennial 2024. 
His latest piece, Ocean Cage, was premiered in Berlin’s Hebbel Am Ufer and is being perfomed in major venues worldwide like Kyoto Experiment, Tanzhaus Dusseldorf, Arsenic Lausanne and Kampnagel Hamburg.

Alex Wang is a Berlin-based musician hailing from one of the coldest regions of China. His work is deeply influenced by the harsh natural environment of his hometown and his early training in classical and electronic music. This peculiar combination has sparked his fascination with the "deafening illusion"—an explosive blend of bass and noise that surprises with sudden shifts, constantly pushing the boundaries of soundscapes through ongoing exploration.

{Premiere} Rolaz - Reverse Psychology (Mathematica Records)

The twenty-eighth release from Chilean label Halcxn is led by Chilean DJ and producer Kamila Govorčin, currently based in Croatia. On this occasion, she presents a body of work centered on ambient music: an eight-track album conceived and experienced as a continuous sonic journey from beginning to end. The album stands out for its narrative coherence, giving meaning to each moment through the thoughtful use of synthesizers, breaks, vocals, and silence.

“After a long night, at dawn, the dew appears — a gentle gift from the sky. In alchemical practices, dew is collected because it is associated with the universal spirit; a substance that can dissolve, transmute, and regenerate. The base of an elixir. This idea inspired me to create Rocío, a full-length album I began working on a year ago to present at an event by Osvaldo Sotomayor, and which I finally completed in Rijeka, Croatia. Over the course of 48 continuous minutes, elements of ambient, breaks, downtempo, acid, and trip hop are combined, creating a sonic journey that is reminiscent, hypnotic, warm, and fluid.”
