Mugwump 's collaboration with Norwegian disco godfather Päl Nyhus from Mungolian Jetset (Smalltown Supersound) & Tore Gjedrem from killer duo Ost & Kjex (Diynamic), who both provide eerie Prince-like vocals for a slice of psychedelic funk-pop that is the first excerpt from Mugwump's brilliant forthcoming debut album (entitled "Unspell" and scheduled for release on 22.03.2015).
This song about commitment, failure and hope of self- improvement is a departure from Mugwump's full-on club sound and ventures in the realms of modern pop.

Béziers. Le nom claque comme une salve d'été sur les arènes pleines, comme un verre de vin qui s’entrechoque au coucher du soleil. Perchée sur son promontoire dominant l’Orb et le canal du Midi, cette ville du sud, souvent méconnue, est pourtant l’une des plus anciennes de France. Trois mille ans d’histoire, de sang et de fête, de pierre et de lumière. Ici, le passé n’est pas un musée figé : il respire encore, dans les ruelles, sur les façades, et jusque dans l’accent des Biterrois.

Béziers, c’est d’abord une ville romaine. Voie Domitienne, amphithéâtre, mosaïques : les traces de la splendeur antique sont là, sous les pieds des promeneurs. Puis vint le Moyen Âge, et son cortège de drames — la croisade des Albigeois, l’incendie de la cathédrale, les luttes de pouvoir. Mais la ville s’est relevée, fière et tenace, bâtissant ses remparts et sa cathédrale Saint-Nazaire, majestueuse sentinelle dressée face au vent du large.

Aujourd’hui encore, Béziers cultive cet esprit de résistance. Elle n’est pas lisse, elle ne cherche pas à plaire à tout prix. Elle vit, elle gronde, elle chante. Chaque été, la féria transforme la ville en une scène ouverte où se mêlent toros, flamenco, bodegas et traditions revisitées. Ce n’est pas qu’un événement : c’est une vibration collective, un hommage à l’identité du Sud, entre fête populaire et mémoire culturelle.

Mais Béziers, c’est aussi la douceur. Celle du canal du Midi, inscrit au patrimoine mondial, qui serpente sous les platanes, bordé de péniches et de silences paisibles. Celle de ses vignobles qui s’étendent à perte de vue, entre mer et garrigue, offrant des vins riches et généreux. Celle de ses terrasses animées, de ses marchés colorés, de son soleil qui chauffe les pierres sans jamais les brûler.

La ville bouge. Elle se réinvente, entre rénovations urbaines et éveil artistique. Des galeries s’ouvrent, des festivals naissent, la jeunesse revient, fière de redonner du souffle à sa ville natale. Dans les murs de pierre, on entend à nouveau la musique, les débats, les idées. Béziers regarde vers demain sans renier ce qu’elle a été : un carrefour, un bastion, une muse du Sud.

Ici, tout est contrastes et cohérence. Le rugby côtoie la poésie. L’histoire ancienne flirte avec le graffiti. L’accent rocailleux cache souvent un cœur tendre. Et ceux qui prennent le temps de la découvrir ne repartent jamais tout à fait comme avant.

Béziers, c’est une ville qui s’écoute. Qui se respire. Et qui groove, sans jamais trahir son tempo.

Barefoot Beats 06 Side B - Coisas dos Homes - Balako [Snippet]

We at Feinstoff are really happy to share with you all the fourth release of British/Albanian imprint "Olimpiada". 'Zig Zag Sea EP' by the Albanian project 'Pines In The Sun'. Mastered by Rich Lane at Cotton Bud Mastering. 

This is a debut release for the Tirana Based duo Lindi aka Uj Pa Gaz and Olsi of Radioblog Tirana. 

Both tracks were recorded in Sep 2018 at Bunec beach in the south coast of Albania. The sound is a mix of balearic, dub, psychedelic, downtempo, think the Adriatic zig zag sea meeting the Ionian sun. Here comes a special remix from the tici taci label boss Duncan Gray!

Justin Strauss and Max Pask have joined up to form a new project called Each Other, with their playful self-titled EP ‘Be Nice To Each Other’.

The EP finds Each Other creating an eclectic range of sounds in the space of just three tracks. The opener ‘Same As It Never Was’ is the most immediate of the set, becoming more hypnotic as the minimalist topline buries itself into your subconscious. The downtempo ‘Burn It Down’ then darkens the mood, feeling closer to a dystopian sci-fi soundtrack than an underground club classic, before the playful and progressive ‘Six Weeks’ up the energy with jittering beats, sparkling synths and a cooly understated vocal.
