With “Color Splashes” this unique band opens their world wide with a groove-based, globally inflected set which chronicles a vivid trip of several decades of European art music evolution, as well as the increasing interpenetration of genres from nu-jazz to world music to EDM.

Amazing thing, music. Everything around us is woven of thoughts and names and concepts.  Words are meant and spoken.  Even “I” is a word. We tag and label all the way, and so goes the monologue where “I” and “Me” are names... 

And then, out of nowhere comes the music. Just a few notes – and silence. Through breath it whispers. Then again – a few notes – like a tap on the mind's shoulder. What? - it puzzles you, it makes you stumble, takes you deeper... Again, and the drum beat hooks you up and the inner movement reveals itself, making you aware of the inner rhythms, which are actually there inside you all the time, even though you are preoccupied with thinking... 

And then the big wheel starts turning. You can't ignore it any more... It becomes gross, it stirs up the fire, it spins, it captures you and... all of a sudden, disappears, leaving you stretched in a space of numbness over the thread of a pulsing drum-beat, like a heart. Breath taken, thoughts stopped, feeling enters, piercing the speechless space with a melody. And so goes the speechless talk.

Inner Monster

This is quite a drama that illustrates our “inner monsters” – dark sides of the soul. The song points to the way to treat them with the remedies of confession, catharsis and compassionate prayer. Because the whole song is a kind of a complete journey, listening to the very end is a must!  

We usually make this song the conclusion of our live performance. So just when the final prayer starts all the musicians simply freeze motionless on the stage and everyone's listening to the words of the prayer. And it's always overwhelming to celebrate the light, relief and excitement that comes at the end – we just feel one with the audience that simply bursts into the storm of happy applause! 

By the way, the low growling and monotonous sound that appears in the middle of the song is a didjeridoo, a wind instrument native to Indigenous Australians which dates back to around 6th century AD, or even before that.
