After two stunning releases on Exit Records in 2018 and 2020, 2022 marks Itoa’s third offering to dBridge’s esteemed catalogue.

With his ‘Oh No’ EP, the London artist follows hypnotic loops into a treasure trove of 160 and bass bangers that are sure to keep their cool even as they set dancefloors on fire.

From the slouchy, wall-melting fuzz of ‘We Want’, to the breakneck claustrophobia of Girlboss Microplastix, the release keeps the body at its core: in Itoa’s words, “trying to make music that makes me want to move when surrounded by uncertainty and possible collapse.” Fierce, but subtle: funky, and still ice cold.

For the title track, Itoa incorporates spicy vocal grit from Japanese vocalist Nakamura Minami / なかむらみなみ, a rapper with affiliations to iconic Tokyo-based imprint Trekkie Trax. ‘Oh No’ takes jacking acid to new levels, unleashing an infectious 303 workout not just for the feet, but the shoulders too. Go ahead and whip your hair to this one—then take a sweat break before ‘Fonda U’ continues to tear up the tracklist with crisp wubs and a drumbeat that just won’t quit.

On the flip, ‘Girlboss Microplastix’ and ‘Catch Eyes’ hit a perfect combo of neurofunk hypnosis and raise-yer-gunfingaz fuel. Who said a 303 couldn’t tag team a reese bass… Jump-up, footwork, bassline and braindance all make their cameos here and the results are delicious—fine dining for the UK heads.

"Photography has become the creative outlet I needed in my life, it has no expectations of me, as any hobby rightly should. I'm still in my infancy with it and I have a few different cameras but the one I'm drawn to the most is the instant photo format. Its permanence appeals to me, there's no going back, no adding unnecessary filters and repeating until you get it right. It captures a moment; warts and all.
I'm lucky as I'm in a unique position to be able to get closer than most to my fellow music makers and listeners and point a lens into their world. Over the years I've amassed a fair amount of pictures and I often take a moment to enjoy the memories they conjure up. It dawned on me that what had started out as a photographic collection of the people I met whilst travelling through music was forming a unified image of the Bass music scene, images of the people around me who had helped shape it and are a part of its lineage. This book is a small collection of some of those people, friends and more importantly; family."

The Pleasure District label returns for the its fifth release, the stable  was previously home to Heart Drive aka dBridge and Kid Drama but the gates have been opened for Fracture and vocalist Lucie La Mode, with one collaboration with the aforementioned Kid Drama. The release opens with Remember The Time Feat Lucie La Mode, the track itself is reminiscent of a soundtrack work by Vangelis whilst La Mode’s vocal adds a warmth to proceedings. The second track is a collab with Kid Drama and marries some very disparate elements in the vein of previous Pleasure District releases, keeping the musical pallette open and yet achieving cohesion at the same time.

Gantz debuts on Exit Records with two tracks that set him apart from his contemporaries. This release sits perfectly on the label, Gantz has captured the essence of what Exit Records is whilst also moving his artistry further. He delivers two vocal tracks, Garam ft Amos and Rabid ft. Elif Dikec. Amos is a part of A/T/O/S, a duo with a discography that included an album on Deep Medi, Elif Dikec is a classically trained musician and a producer in her own right.
