ST022 - Various Artists - Monodromie

A new generation of the Parisian electronic scene is making its voice heard with Clockwork EP, the result of a collaboration between Assayag and Juliann. Both artists represent a fresh wave of French producers who fuse groove, emotion, and club energy into a singular sound spanning House, Melodic House, and Techno.

The EP highlights the natural synergy between the two talents:

“Sometimes” opens with a retro-inspired synth line, a playful nod to the legendary entrance music of PSG players at Parc des Princes, reimagined here as a hypnotic dancefloor weapon.

“Light” builds on shimmering textures and cinematic tension, extending the story that began with Flash, Assayag’s acclaimed release on Sapiens Recordings.

Closing with “Clockwork”, the EP turns inward, showcasing Assayag’s growing affinity for piano-driven arrangements—now central to his identity—and enhanced by Juliann’s melodic sensibility.

With this release, Assayag and Juliann position themselves as two of the most promising names in Paris, capable of reaching both club audiences and listeners drawn to deeper, melodic journeys.

Following the success of his standout release Stereo Love, Sahar returns home to Isolate with Sink or Swim - a five-track EP that dives deep into the emotional undercurrents of modern dance music.

It begins with the title track, Sink or Swim, where electronic and indie-rock influences blur into one. Piercing drones and ghostly vocal FX set the tone for a story of urban connection and post-rave longing - a kind of romantic tension that feels all too familiar.
From there, Something Beginning with Z picks up the pulse. It’s a hypnotic, emotionally charged single that balances melancholy with moments of euphoria. The groove is steady but what unfolds feels deeply personal - a hook you feel as much as you hear.
CL0S3R crashes in with raw energy. A dark, stretched-out bassline underpins glitchy, Hyperpop-leaning vocal samples. It’s chaotic, moody and made to rattle a late-night floor.
Then Transdimensional Lover changes the temperature again, inviting listeners into a disco-laced, psychedelic dreamscape. Glistening basslines, cosmic vocals, and spaced-out guitar riffs push the track beyond genres - even beyond time.
The journey ends with Jokers, an indie-dance slow-burn that tells the tale of two people dreaming of escape, but first needing to face themselves. It’s romantic, flawed and very human.

With Sink or Swim, Sahar delivers more than an EP. It’s a collection of stories of love, doubt, desire, and change wrapped in sound. Welcome back to Isolate, Levi.
