Following on from a line of highly respected releases; Suite(s), Cut(s) and Woe, Ex Libras - Amit Sharma (Guitar / Vocals), Kieran Nagi (Keyboards / Bass) and Ross Kenning (Drums) - offer their latest track 'City Kids Grow Never Seeing The Stars' as a free download, available from their Bandcamp page. Recorded in West London and mixed by Alan Moulder (Slaves, Royal Blood, Nine Inch Nails), this will be the first of a series of releases the the band have undertaken to self release, harking right back to their DIY tradition of first Album Suite(s).

City Kids Grow Never Seeing The Stars opens with Amit's delicate call for the opportunity to escape, encouraged by distant, sincere piano melodies until huge drums coupled with a wall of guitars lose you in a cacophony of wild abandon. 

Ex Libras’ new offering will be welcome news for the likes of Clash, Q, DIY, The 405, The Line of Best Fit, Drowned in Sound, Prog Magazine, BBC 6Music’s Tom Robinson, XFM’s John Kennedy and Amazing Radio, who were among the band’s early supporters.

Ex Libras are Amit Sharma, Kieran Nagi and Ross Kenning, a trio from Hounslow, West London who deliver a unique approach to the post rock formula by allowing samples, loops and improvised mathematical rock blow outs to live in one space. Their follow up album to Suite(s), 2009 is due for release later this year.

To celebrate 10 years of Underachiever being released, we decided to dig out something from the archive - our lovely session recorded with the wonderful guys at Blank studios in Newcastle. 

Recorded on 15th November in the middle of our Cut(s) Tour. 
We were supremely lucky to have Cat & Ruth come down from Glasgow to join us for part of that tour, and for this session!
