fascinating trip ! seems like '86 was a good year :D

Returning to our listening sessions, this time with getting to know friend Gena Alexandrovitch Ivanov aka Brother G.

  Hailing from Ukraine, Brother G, now residing in Lisbon for a few years already has been leaving his mark within the electronic music scene for a while.  
From DJing to music production, from founding Gravity Surfer Records and co-founding Mysterious Russian Soul Records, to releasing on respected RAWAX three times and more recently to local heavyweights and cult shop Carpet and Snares Records, that's how he “introduces” himself.  

Our relationship with his person starts at one of our favorite places to be, a dance floor, and that's how we got to know him, by meeting him at the best and go out for listening music local spots.  A well reserved experienced guy with a strong and super-relaxed personality who’s always up for some quality time, respectfully.   

We are so happy to count on him for our series, and how simply he got this up especially for us.

When I first met Yana/Unjack in the club, it was on the dancefloor. Now I can meet her even behind the decks and she is better and better. This set shows pretty clearly to where she evolved as a dj.

Born in cold and distant Yakutia Unjack realizes that rave is her thing at the age of 6, when she hears Prodigy for the first time. Years later she makes her move to Prague and become a resident of established Wildt club. Fresh on the Prague music scene Unjack finds herself in the playful waters of bouncy garage music, floating between luscious 90’s vocals, funky jams and deep minimal sounds.

It is the natural path that can never be ignored.

Born in 1986’ life is permeated by music in every facet, connecting with sound in a way that traverses stylistic genre. His relationship with music is based on deep emotional connection, using it as a conduit to explore himself instinctively and intimately. 

For him music is a portal, an outlet to the isolation one sometimes experiences in a world of dissonances. Emotional soundscapes are painted through his performances, where music becomes a channel to the universe. Strokes of nature are juxtaposed with rough, industrial counterpoint, where he reveals brief moments of happiness amidst the melancholy. 

This transmission is a personal outlet, dreaming with music to create new realities of perception and identity.
