Coming to Black Seven Music in early May, Netherlands-based artist Rob Stillekens drops his latest release ‘Heywa’. Featuring two original cuts from the Dutchman and a remix from the well-respected French artist, DJ Entwan, ‘Heywa’ features a constant stream of raucous rhythmic flair - synonymous with Black Seven Music’s signature terrace Tech style.

‘Heywa’ opens with the skitter of rambunctious percs and a little vinyl dustiness. Pounding kicks and an undulating sub-bass melody drive it forward, accompanied by mellow synth strikes,
offbeat fills, and a subtle vocal injection. A vibe-building roller to set the mood, carrying substantial weight with it.

DJ Entwan’s remix of ‘Heywa’ oozes pleasantly nonchalant energy from start to finish. A rippling underbelly of cleverly panned percussive instruments slides in and out of its swaying kick/sub combo, with crisp hats and rides modulating the energy of the track throughout. The track is tied together with atmospheric breaks, lined with delicate pads and layers of sound that build into impressive throwdowns.

‘The Atelier’ is pacy and upbeat from the first bar. Sizzling hats and shuffled rhythmic grooves make the perfect match for its filtered piano lines that progressively build throughout the track.
Rumbling underneath is its potent low-frequency bed of drum programming and pulsating sub-bass. A light and airy number with a sting in its tail, perfect for setting the mood. Rob Stillekens’ ‘Heywa’ EP (incl. DJ Entwan Remix) is proudly presented by Black Seven Music.

Paco Osuna's record label Mindshake welcomes a house focused EP from UK artist Ben Sterling.

Based in London, Ben Sterling is a talented DJ and accomplished producer who is well-known for his groove-laden tracks on labels ranging from Jamie Jones' Hot Creations to Eats Everything's Edible.

After starting his career as a Ministry of Sound resident when he was only 18, Ben Sterling has since travelled the world to play clubs such as DC10 in Ibiza and large events like The BPM Festival in Central America.

Ben Sterling has proven himself to be one of house music's most exciting young artists with music often championed by the likes of Marco Carola, The Martinez Brothers and Patrick Topping.

"Durh Brain" opens the release with its stripped back style, which fuses a rubbery acid-line with captivating vocal phrases and hypnotising rhythms. "Peeps in De Back" is another acid-tinged track with a jackin' groove and shuffling hi-hats, plus hip hop influenced vocal samples. "Whats The News" closes out the EP with its breakbeat percussion loop and timeless old school flavour.

Making his debut on Libero is undeniably one of the most prolific names to come out of the UK scene in the last few years. You have to go quite some distance before you find someone that hasn't come across Iglesias' unique musical designation. Coming in the form of a twin-track EP, 'Rudiment' exhibits a generous serving of prime-time material from one of the industry's most-revered and standout talents.

The title track, 'Rudiment', wastes no time in setting the mood. Riveting layers of percussion, comprising snares, toms, shakers and all manner of rhythmic instruments make a worthy adversary for the track's striking kicks and driving sub groove. A combination of vocal creativity, laced with UKG nostalgia, and several melodic factors make the final touches on what is yet another of Iglesias' finest cuts.

'Seductive' cuts a different line with pacey energy and an early-electronic persona. An array of gritty sonics and raw analog melodies make for a retro space-age mood, whilst still retaining an emphatic focus on masterfully constructed percussion. A track with a unique cinematic feel, unlike anything you would have heard before - showing an unparalleled level of depth and startling insight into Iglesias' artistic capabilities.

The Libero Records boss opens the doors on his studio catalogue to give us a deeper insight into his identity as an artist, picking out two unreleased tracks that have been providing standout moments in his sets over the last 12 months.

‘Back Off’ moves things off with a seductive feel. Driving drum patterns and filtered key stabs add some authentic deep house flavour to the mix, the perfect companion for the track’s sultry vocal top line - making it instantly recognisable and equally as memorable.
