I wrote this song about the April 2015 protests in Baltimore and our country's ongoing brokenness when it comes to racial tensions. I have never written a song like this before - a song that speaks to the political aspects of my view of the world. This is why, with this song, I don't want to shroud things in cryptic lyrics. I just want to say what's on my heart and mind. The chorus is simple: "We want more than smoke we want the fire."
