How long had it been since the cold had set in? Months, years, perhaps even decades? Under the dim light of a sun long fallen from its zenith none could say, for the unending twilight obscured the passage of time beneath its penumbral veil. The sun had fallen long ago, that much was known, and with it came the chill grasp of constant winter which buried the seas in ice and had frozen much of the world to the bone.

That life which did survive now did so amidst the former tropics of the land, the trees of which now creaked under the weight of the ice that hung from their branches. Few species had made successful migrations to these pockets of relative warmth, and none had lived within them long enough to adapt to the new climatic norm, and thus the ground was oft littered with their corpses, barely decaying amidst the chill that enveloped them. Most extant life had found shelter deep underground or near to the rims of the world’s calderas, finding shelter or desperately needed warmth amidst the bones and blood of a world now dead of flesh. The ETERNAL FROST had descended, and life now teetered on the brink of extinction beneath the weight of its stygian presence.

AGRESSOR BUNX bring their latest EP ETERNAL FROST to EATBRAIN, presenting four further sonic sequences of apocalyptic power to the EATBRAIN horde in following with the theme set by their previous EP, Lethal Rain.

The aim of the project was simple: the advancement of the human genome. The creation of a faster, stronger, more capable being from the raw source material of life, the encoding of a biological program more sophisticated than any other that had come before it, creator or lack thereof be damned. Set to work on the project were the organization’s top minds, experts in the fields of experimental medicine, biology, genomics and evolutionary theory. Working in secret under the benign neglect of the organizations public eye, their experiments pushed the very limits of the sciences they employed, as well as the morality that they all held quite fortunately in questionable regard.

From vats, replicators, test tubes, and centrifuges, these secretive experts bore forth forms of life never before seen, creating creatures both beautiful and terrifying, beings of undeniable superiority and of unimaginable horror born together as twins. Humanoids hybridized with multispecies genomes came forth in forms from fungal to animalistic, merged in unspeakable ways that stood in stark contrast to the hippocratic oath some present held upon the surface world. Down here in the depths of both earth and depravity, such concerns mattered not in the face of sheer technological and biological progress. Such was their task the VARIATION IN PRODUCTION of the multifaceted human genome.

Mainframe Recordings head honcho DisasZt will be celebrating his birthday in the best possible way this year; he’s a releasing an almighty beast of a track to add some fire to these cold December nights. Get ready for the heat because “Winter Is Coming”.

Disaszt’s 2020 discog’s list this has been one full of collaborations, with eclectic tracks which span the happier, upbeat, pop-laced dance-floor vibe, to the downright, tear-out, techy twisters, however, “Winter Is Coming” reminds us of the darker, more rough and ready side of the Austrian maestro.

Here we undoubtedly have a heads-down, 3 am bubbler. Introducing the single is a twisted and techy cinematic soundscape, slowly building intensity with every anticipating note, an eerie vocal adds an extra layer of malcontent to an already dark intro. Rather than an explosion of sound, the drop reveals a continued level of unsettling and highly un-expected calm. The sci-fi swaths which dominate the melody create a constant level of menace which continually simmers just below boiling point, while the clean breaks below replicate an ever forward-marching, unwavering descent into darkness.

Finishing the year with some fire, DisasZt invites us to heat up those speakers because ‘Winter Is Coming.”

Exploid is an independent electronic producer and DJ hailing from Hamburg/Bremen, northern Germany. His passion for bass music builds up since early 2000s and has remained strong ever since. He combines strong and heavy basslines with uplifting melodies and creates a unique hybrid sound.

His inimitable brand of music is unlike anything else. Powerful, mysterious, but also melodic and densely arranged, these tracks have an immediate mesmerizing effect on audiences. Never one to chase trends, he continues to blaze his own path, exploring the depths of Drum & Bass and Tech House and constantly reinventing his sound.

Exploid has been expressing himself musically since he was a child. Born as son from a jazz musician, he started at the age of 12 with drum lessons. A few years later, he mastered the art of Bass, Guitar, Piano and other instruments. This passion for playing and creating music has never changed and has since enabled him to smash venues as musician, producer and DJ.

As much inspired by the sounds of rave, winding, wobbling and low basses, Exploid is already known for his signature dance floor smashing style, bright melodies, smooth but also heavy basslines. Despite this, he’s experimenting with every kind of sounds, genres and sub-genres. He’s pushing the boundaries, unites music and doing something different. This has, and always will, be a very important part of his production style.
