Since 2018, Bizzaro Universe from Hamburg have been delivering a genre-fluid mix of Neo Italo Disco, Powerhouse, Indie Dance, and Italo Trance across German and international venues.

Their club-focused productions have been released by labels like Bordello a Parigi, Discotexas, Nein Records, Mélopée Records. DJs like Pablo Bozzi, fka.m4a, Phase Fatale, Maruwa, Tjade, Sarah Wild, Shubostar, Mystery Affair, and Perel have already integrated their tracks into their sets.

Laion touches down on Feinstoff with a sublime four-tracker that channels the sleek allure of Italo, the sun-drenched moods of early ’90s house, and a sprinkle of rave.
Opening with Hand Hand Paw, an irresistibly hooky bassline slides in early and takes hold, driving high-octane momentum with a glint of trance in its DNA, where rave energy fuses with crisp, Neo-Italo vibes. Built with the floor in mind, it pushes towards an acid-laced finale that seals the deal.
Doctr steps up for the remix, zeroing in on the original’s addictive bassline and letting it dominate the space. A commanding, stomping groove takes hold, stripped back to pure power, with precision layers and sharp dynamics showing Doctr in top form.
JYF shifts the mood into brighter territory, a dominating bassline carrying a French disco shimmer. Major and seventh notes add warmth and lift, while snare rolls build the tension toward a drop that slides in smooth and keeps the floor locked.
Closing with Spinelli Spielloni, the EP returns to darker terrain. An off-beat bass drives shadowy Neo-Italo vibes, stabbing chords slice through the mix, and harmonizing gated synths wrap the groove in a hypnotic grip.

Who killed JackWasFaster?

Was it the post‑pandemic skyrocketing BPMs and the slow death of soul in club music? The exhausting 90s revival — dredging up even its least glorious moments? Maybe it was the nightlife crowd: more “intense,” with Jäger‑tainted breath, white-powdered noses, and the same recycled small‑talk clichés. Or the current musical climate, obsessed with constant novelty over meaningful transformation. Perhaps it was the mainstreaming of tacky spectacle — DJs dressed as mermaids, horses, or bullfighters — a bargain‑basement sublimation of kitsch.

Or maybe it was suicide. A slow collapse brought on by the inability to find new ways to express oneself in this environment; the blur between conviction and inertia; the endless déjà‑vu; the weariness; the age. Like in Murder on the Orient Express, maybe everyone took a stab.

This posthumous EP gathers the final tracks JackWasFaster worked on, a re‑imagined take on his debut cut Bitter Pill, and a blistering remix from Anatolian Weapons. Maybe they’ll help crack the case. Or maybe one day JackWasFaster will rise from the dead.

As we have always said at Sprechen, one of the best things about running a label is being able to work with people that have played a significant role in soundtracking your journey through music. It’s with this latest release that we can tick that box again and welcome Jon Pleased Wimmin to the label for a stomping collaboration with Bristol based self-confessed ‘House Music Fanatic’, Dave K.

Higher is the result of these 2 musical minds getting together in the studio and is a no holds barred, peak time pumper that thunders out of the traps and cranks the endorphin machine up to 11. With nods to Fantazia rave tapes of your youth and dashes of secret hidden parties in Ibiza, this has all that and more.

Both chaps deliver their own remixes with Dave K dropping a darker Italo take that is full of ample pumping elements with a suitable roof raising piano breakdown, a biggie!
Jon Pleased Wimmin takes things more subterranean and cranks the tempo to full force tops off territory on his ‘Poppers’ mix which does indeed hit you like a blast of amyl nitrate!
