Wem (Perel Remix)

For the past few years, Joseph Ashworth has crafted a unique sound in house and techno, blending gritty honesty with an experimental, melodic edge. His acclaimed releases on labels like Life & Death and Get Weird have earned him a dedicated fanbase and support from industry giants like Lee Burridge and DJ Tennis. Known for his versatile and exciting DJ sets, Joseph has played at CRSSD Festival, Printworks, and toured the Far East and North America.

Joseph Ashworth’s “Boa / Searching” EP delivers a diverse range of electronic tracks perfect for various moods and settings. The first track, “Boa,” is pumping and full of percussive beats, making it ideal for igniting the party atmosphere. The second track, “Searching,” is a bit more chill with groovy piano elements, providing a laid-back yet engaging vibe. “Python,” the third track, starts off with an absent, minimalistic sound that gradually gets bassy, creating a unique and evolving listening experience. The sixth vinyl release from Manjumasi is a proper dance floor offering from label co-founder atish, featuring two originals built around smoky samples that evoke the basement club vibes of yesteryear. First up is He’s Gone with an irresistible vocal and a hooky groove. Second is title track Birdland with a warped sax sample carrying the track onwards. On the B-side are a pair of groove-forward remixes of Birdland. Steve O’Sullivan offers up a dubby minimal interpretation that takes the tune’s elements in a more hypnotic direction. Zone+ explores a floatier melodic realm, letting the saxophone waft above a bouncy rubber bassline.

Spanish outfit Lopezhouse kickstarted their young career with ’Mude Tod’ - a quite untypical release on Claude Von Strokes label Dirty Bird. 
With a post punk style/attitude which has been inspired by such iconic sounds as Depeche Mode and LCD soundsystem, and then further refined and mixed with a heavy kick drum and the subtleties of old school Detroit techno - they release their follow-up Single ’See The Line feat. Angela’ on Exploited. The epic track ’Encrypted Name feat. Angela’ features AFFKT as collaborator on production duties and is our secret treasure. Great stuff.
