With release nr. 11, Luv Shack Records are once again eager to exalt the diversity of their releases, while keeping up the quality.

LUV011 is the split EP of the two up and coming electronic music duos "Manhooker" and "Space Echo". Whilst both projects are still relatively new to the scene, they have equally made a stir with their first releases.

Manhooker consists of the two Berliners by choice Tomasz “Guiddo” Switala and Sebastian “Mavin” Magassouba. Their first release appeared on Ostgut Ton´s sublabel 'Unterton' and their second EP was recently released on german heavy hitters 'Sonar Kollektiv' - a collab with ex New Yorker Snax, featuring a remix by Justus Köhncke.

With 'Pushin & Shovin', Manhooker are once again evoking the spirit of classic soulful house hymns. It's an uplifting mix of 90s organs, filtered arpeggios and thick drums all held together by an acid bassline and Mavin´s shimmering vocals. And not to forget the trumpet solo!

The remix of 'Pushin & Shovin' comes from Brazilian wunderkind ROTCIV (who has already remixed Manhooker on their Unterton release). He strips off the smoothness of the original in favor of a more raw and analogue vibe. Its groove seems like a merger of modern electro and classic house, and although ROTCIV´s trademark stabs and pads are used quite ecstatically on this remix, the song structure remains just as strong as in the original.

On The flipside we have Space Echo, the duo of Viennese producer caTekk and (Luv Shack`s very own) Lee Stevens. Their first ever production as a duo was a remix for none other than Austra on Domino Records.

They're offering two equally powerful cuts on the B-side; 'Soul Power' is nothing short of a club burner. A mighty and continuously building ride of funk organs and disco drums, all with a delightfully modern touch. When the vocal kicks in for the first time, ringing in the break, the audience will surely fall into a frenzy when exposed to it! The disco guitars are just the icing on the cake.

'Soul People' takes a slightly more sensual path. Expect dreamy rhodes, dubbed out percussive organs, an almost reggae worthy bassline, a painfully sweet vocal hook and a sharp rhythm that make this track a perfect choice for every warmup, after-hours and daytime set!

With all its ingredients, LUV011 will provide something for everyone who loves electronic music with soul!

Quickly following up the last, instant sell-out smash, Shir Khan's infamous "Black Jukebox" series hit us with the 12th edition. Introducing anonymous project Aussteiger who gets things bouncing with the Summer house monster, "Bangbao". Lush filter sweeps, twinkling keys and powerful bass are order of the day here as the producer works his magic on one of the sunniest grooves we've heard this year. "Return" keeps that outdoor terrace flavour but plunges us deep into the twilight, tribal drums and deep electronics locking us into its hypnotic recess. Martin Lewis contributes a seriously fun and summery version of "Now That We Found Love", utilizing glorious xylophones and horns throughout the melody and letting it roll out with aplomb. Finally, we get the cheeky "Do It" edit which combines hypnotic congas with funky guitar licks and a sun-burnt, Latin energy to create a sizzling brew of hot dancefloor energy. Great stuff! Alex Rossi is back with a timeless album (released on Kwaidan Records in partnership with agnès b.), all about his Italian origins, from Lucio Battisti to Pino d'Angio, and tinted with his Italo-Disco fetish. Entitled "Domani è un'altra notte", it will be released during the first days of the Indian Summer, and was produced by "La Famiglia", aka his friends Arnaud Pilard and Romain Guerret (Dondolo, Aline). 
Six years after "L'ultima canzone" (released on Born Bad), Alex Rossi, "the most Italian of French singers" was not about to sit on his laurels. 
"Tutto va bene quando facciamo l’amore", which was released in June and has been setting dancefloors on fire ever since, is given the remix treatement in these dog days of summer, by no less than Julien Barthe (Plaisir de France), Jabberwocky, Lifelike and Yuksek. 
Summer is only getting started, and the fire will keep raging across clubs the world over... 
 
Yuksek: 
"I generally find it hard to remix a song that I know and like, but in this case, the Italo disco vibe was quite attractive and fun for me to work with, because it's  bit outside of my comfort zone. My latest productions are more influenced by classic late-70s tropical disco, so I got a good headstart!" 
Jabberwocky: 
"We fell in love with the original track from the get-go. It works with the aesthetic of our latest tracks. It's been a blast to keep Alex Rossi's italo disco summer with our remix!"

« Généralement j’ai du mal à remixer un morceau que je connais et que j’aime mais dans ce cas le parti-pris Italo disco était assez évident et plaisant pour moi car ce n’est pas vraiment ma zone de confort. Mes dernières productions sont plus influencés par les classiques disco/tropical fin 70, j’ai gagné une bonne dizaine d’années :) » 
Jabberwocky: 
Nous sommes tombés amoureux du morceau original dès la première écoute, son esthétique correspond à nos inspirations du moment sur nos derniers titres. C’est donc un plaisir de prolonger l’été italo disco d’Alex Rossi avec notre remix !

Where do we start with this release? It’s a royal three way dance collaboration to get you salivating…

How about with Kraak & Smaak? ‘Sweet Time’ was a mighty return to form for the crew on their own Boogie Angst imprint and served as a nice little taster of what to expect from their album coming later this year... 
  
Then we have rising soul/gospel star – Izo FitzRoy. An absolute powerhouse vocalist who provided a stellar performance on the track and has recently been tearing up dancefloors, radio and homes and TVs with her collaboration with Dimitri From Paris  – ‘I Want Magic’.

Then to top it all off we have Yuksek on the remix – a bona-fide dance producer with an enviable career and list of affiliations. The Frenchman is an alumnus of respected labels such as Kitsuné, Future Disco, Defected, and Glitterbox and has worked frequently with the likes of Brodinski, Alex Metric, and Aeroplane. 

His remix credits read as a who’s who of the music biz – Lady Gaga, Justice, Gorillaz, Lana Del Rey, Blur, Chromeo, Ghostaface Killah, Robyn, Moby and more… Yes, this man is the real deal.       
     
And he serves up some next level dancefloor dynamite with more than a sprinkling of the French touch. A remix and dub that will get floors rumbling with footfall and slippery with sweat for sure. No fooling - this could be the remix of the summer...
