Ossie’s career to date is somewhat of a microcosm of the London electronic scene over the last decade. Emerging in the buzzing, innovative post-dubstep scene, he released two EPs of broken beat electronica through Kode 9’s superlative Hyperdub, Detroit techno flavours on Lightworks, and then moved into the UK house underground with releases on Wolf Music, 2020 Midnight Visions and his own Super Cali label. His eclectic output and diverse influences make him a vital producer, and this second EP for Exploited after 2017’s Milk delivers another three tracks of dancefloor gold.

We Mad is a pumping house workout, flexing with weighty garage bass and percussive grooves, while discordant keys play out a tense refrain. The powerful, politicised vocal speech and snippets of diva wailing are used to great effect, lifting the already highly energetic track up another level. My Rail goes in a more heads down direction, with a driving low end groove pummeling away beneath disorientating string cut-ups. Channeling vintage Kerri Chandler, it’s a relentless workout for when you want to keep things rolling. From Reece strips things down to basics, with a tight, snappy groove and sumptuous 808 bass tones working away under a pitchshifting hip-hop vocal sample creating a vibe that’s not too dissimilar to the early golden days of Switch. Mellow keys and a warm meandering synth soften things up as the track progresses.

With support for his music from the likes of Benji B, Gilles Peterson and Annie Mac and appearances at Sonar, Lovebox, XOYO and Boiler Room, Ossie is one of the most exciting names in the new skool of house music.

Across a string of well received records on Seth Troxlers Play It Say It, 20/20 Vision and Moan Recordings, The Mekanism has honed a refreshingly uninhibited sound - one that pops with joyful expression and works to serve the sort of free-flowing parties he regularly plays across the US and Mexico. Here, he delivers his trademark sound with Do The Disco - a rapturous cut that features percussion from Grammy Award-winning percussionist Jorge Bezerra and an alt sax replaying of Do It At The Disco by Garys Gang by Tom Barford with a gracious nod from Nervous and Uni Disc. The taught skins of Bezerras drums rattle out of the blocks and get things off to an electrifying start. Pattered into dexterous of polyrhythms, they carry that certain energy that drives a marrow-deep motivation to move while a straight 4/4 kick maintains a solid boom throughout. Jorge Bezerra is a Grammy Award-winning Musician and Percussionist who has worked alongside many great artists throughout his career, notably on Ludovic Navarres St Germain project, on stage with the wonderful Melody Gardot and as an integral member of the Joe Zawinul Syndicate that allowed him to share the stage with other greats, such as Herbie Hancock, Bebel Gilberto, Hitonari Tsuji, Cheick Tidiane and Bobby McFerrin. Barfords sax is steadily filtered in while a bossy bass line walks up and down and the mood begins to bubble. Drums, sax and bass take turns to grab centre stage and the resultant vibe is feverish, balmy and jammed full of fun.

Exploited Club warmly welcome in Pleasure Voyage who step up to the plate and do as they do best: casting out a wide musical net, gathering in influences from Breaks, House, Disco, Balearic and Funk whilst pulling in a hefty dose of fun, flair and ecstasy to boot.

'Cuánto Cuesta' is a simmering pot of pure joy. A bubbling bass line has the track on a low boil throughout while luscious, buoyant synths intimately jostle alongside bold but allaying piano chords. Classic breaks snap in the back while a gently acidic lead flexes in and out of focus and the resultant groove sends out a clear and cosy invitation to get loose.

A regular on Johannes Albert's Frank Music's label and Tensnake's True Romance, Claus Casper chips in with his 'No Tengo Dinero' remix - a fortified revision that packs an extra punch with a layered snare, cow bells and an open hat that seasons the groove with a little bite and snap.

Rolling snare fills punctuate the track as Claus creates ramps for sections that showcase his indisputable chops on the keys. The passion and heat of the orignal remains intact as progress tumbles towards a long, spine-tingling breakdown that pops wide open in a manner that will send the floor absolutely nuts.
