Back in 2015, Mancunian DJ and Producer Hidden Spheres aka Tom Harris joined the Rhythm Section family for our twelfth release. Storming into 2022 and approaching 50 releases Tom has a long overdue return to the label with a synthesis of electronic house vibrations.

‘You Are Not Your Body’ is a stellar collection of five tracks, which touch on the sensations of euphoria and the blissed-out intersection between early prog and Detroit House. Channelling energies for meditation and self love, things kick off with ‘Improvisation’ an electro infused eight minute workout, whilst ‘Euan 92’ is a festival-defining ‘hands-in-the-air’ anthem tried and tested by Bradley Zero on the road throughout 2021.

Love Your Body is a delightful disco-esque chugger reinforcing joyful energies and an infectious bass line to keep you wiggling on the dance floor. Things come to a close with a spaced out balearic house remix by RS family favourite Ruf Dug.

Eddie C descends out of the clouds with a real fun EP to mark the 16th release from Lips & Rhythm Records. The Canadian producer and edit wizard was last seen at the helm of his seaplane en route to the island of Madeira for surf and sunshine. Before he took off he left us some heat we are ready to share with you all. The title track 'Infinite Wait' is a smooth mid-tempo flute-laced groove, while "EverybodyEverybodyEverybody" is a thick and chugging "acid-lite" cut that's going to stomp across dance floors. With the runway cleared for landing the "wait" is finally over for this party record.

So, when we were approached by two already existing legends from the beautiful world of House Music, Charles Levine & Fuzzy Cufflinxxx (aka Bear Who) with a collaborative project, I kind of already knew it was going to be a good fit before I even listened.

Well, as expected, it is a REALLY good fit! Both of these guys, as well as being fantastic DJs with their own hugely successful musical projects, have frequently produced interesting and original music for many years now and Do I Stay is no exception.

It’s a piping hot journey down the rabbit hole of sonic perfection.

The original mix as well as being a fantastic lyrical journey also hits like a freight train with enormous drums and an even bigger bassline. Enough promo-speak though. The highly respected and much loved doyens of disco Crazy P are curating a brand new series of records for 20/20 Vision, featuring a fine selection of exclusive tracks produced by some of their favourite artists. Although rooted in disco the project showcases the bands wide ranging and eclectic musical world, incorporating; balearic moments, downtempo beats, indie dance and electronica. The music will be spread over four vinyl records featuring bespoke artwork from Bristol based visual artist Victoria Topping, back illustrating for the band after creating several of their classic covers in the early years. The concept of the curation is to bring diverse like-minded artists together and re-invigorate the disco scene in the spirit of unity. 

Volume One features a brand new track from the Crazy P called ‘People (We Can Transform) sitting alongside a selection of disco dubs and stompers courtesy of Ashley Beedle, LA based ASHRR with Felix Dickinson on the remix and U.S funkateers Change Request & Saucy Lady. 

Vinyl will be distributed by Juno with digital released through Republic of Music coming Autumn 2022 with the series culminating in summer 2023.

4 big ol’ chunks of heavy house music are the order of the day from New York producer Ralph Session’s hot new EP for Black Jukebox. Combining his skills as a musician and seasoned DJ along with the technical know-how from his work as an audio engineer, the result is a collection of beautifully crafted, hard-hitting house cutz.
‘That Raw’ features a breathy spoken-word vocal from DJ Amir—one half of the legendary duo Kon & Amir—that laces the soulful, deep production with a hypnotic atmosphere. Thick bass bubbles beneath soaring strings and meandering synth arpeggios to give the track a set-building, big-room feel. ‘Do It’ rocks jaunty snatches of piano and sax over its peppy, skippy beat, with a little New Jersey feel in its incessant, phat-bottomed grove. ‘If You Want’ takes us into a deeper direction with its hazy pad work and dubby touches, with a slinky, rubbery bass groove that throbs hard beneath it all. Turn it up loud and feel it envelop you with its wide-open atmospherics. ‘Raw Sax’ rounds off with a dusty, skipping drum track shuffling around dreamy filtering synths, dubbed-out stab patterns and of course a sultry sax line.

@glenn-underground's The Strictly Jaz Unit project has been around in one form or another since the mid-90s, with the deep and soulful Chicago producer working on and off with fellow local hero @boo-williams on the project. With only sporadic appearances over recent years, SJU now returns with a full album in the form of 'The Tempest', the duo's first full-length working together under the name. It's been well worth the wait, oozing with gorgeous atmospheres and free-flowing synth solos. It's impossible to pick a favourite, but this is up there - a spacey, slow-burning excursion that blends Chicago with Detroit in wonderful manner. Mystical pads and shimmering chorb stabs sit atop squelchy bass and a cute, freewheeling lead melody, all combining for a super hypnotic journey.
