On his debut album Feelin’, Ivory marries hi-tech sound design with the emotional pull of house for 10 tracks shaped by a multitude of club music and R&B. Album opener “Voices” infuses noirish melodratma with playful, pitch-shifted vocals that instantly lighten the mood. Next up, “Blank” draws from a similar blueprint, bolstered by low end pressure and ruptured rhythms. 

Ivory explains how “Do It My Way” embodies the underlying concept of Feelin’; “taking something and reworking it into a new shape that reflects your own personality as artist”. A cool electro cut warmed through with a dreamy hook, here, uplifting piano chords set the stage for what happens next. “Feelin’” is a dancefloor slammer, a healthy balance of tension and release that comes with an invite to conquer the floor. Heating up the album’s core, Tagliaferri works up an appetite for “I Need You Now”; a hulking warehouse cut built from barrelling, muscular kicks and a diced up diva house-esque vocal.

For “What I Do,” we are transported to a land of French touch with high-voltage basslines aplenty while the propulsive “Try” pulls the crowd back into room one for a huge, anthemic floor-filler underpinned by jagged synths. Ivory describes “Don’t Lose Control” as “one of the more emotional moments of the LP”; a track centered around dreamy pads, smooth house synth stabs and a disembodied post-human voice that sounds eerily poetic.

The LP’s penultimate track “Steps” leans on swirling, pearlescent keys and a sweet, balearic-tinged melody before “I Know What You Want” offers the ultimate sign-off statement, slicing through the razor-sharp mesh of synthwork with dueling vocals and sparky beats. Ivory creates his music by working with hardware, plug-ins, samples, and field recordings and he bundles all of this know-how into a distinctive album that lends itself to both reflection and liberation.

Giza DJs, consisting of Gian Pietro Dragoni and Tiziano Santomaso, are a renowned Italian electronic music duo known for their distinctive style blending melodic synths with raw effects, inspired by the Dolomite mountains. They've gained recognition in the underground music scene, releasing tracks on prominent labels and receiving support from artists like Solomun, Nicole Moudaber, and Pete Tong. Their 2020 track "Dolce" reached the Beatport Indie Dance top 100, and their 2022 EP "Acid Afternoon" for Diynamic became a best-seller, solidifying their position in the industry. Finally the two Italian producers present their strong debut single on Mobilee, which includes the original track " Club Mojo" and an outstanding remix by Mowgli.

"Club Mojo" is a track that enchants the senses and ignites dance floors. At its core is a compelling spoken vocal that accompanies the entire song, creating a dramatic atmosphere. The production skillfully blends the grace of a piano with dramatic drum elements that generate pulsating energy. Pole Position is an exhilarating new project born in the vibrant city of Barcelona, brought to life by two highly experienced and renowned figures in the music industry: Loïc Le Joliff, the visionary director and founder of Brunch Electronik, and Jaime Alguersuari, a former Red Bull Formula 1 driver now making his mark in the music world as Squire. Loïc’s musical journey began in Montreal, where he unearthed his profound passion for electronic music. His career took off with the creation of his own label and a solo DJ career under the name Lee Jo Life. His path eventually led him to Barcelona, where he launched Brunch Electronik. It was here, at one of his events, that he crossed paths with Jaime Alguersuari. Jaime, once celebrated as one of the youngest drivers in Formula 1 history, has seamlessly transitioned into the music industry, rebranding himself as Squire. The immediate connection between Loïc and Jaime was fueled by their shared passions for music and Formula 1. Their discerning taste in music and innovative approach to sound quickly revealed their shared influences, ranging from Jazz, Soul, and Hip Hop to Funk and evolving soundscapes. This synergy inspired them to create a new record label and social brand in Barcelona, leading to the birth of Ànims. The label’s releases have captured the attention of iconic artists such as me, Dixon, Adriatique, Solomun, John Digweed, and Carl Cox. With a dynamic lineup of releases scheduled for 2024, including an EP and several remixes, Pole Position is poised to lead listeners on an electrifying musical journey. In addition to their production work, Pole Position is making waves on the live scene with a packed schedule of national and international shows. Their performances are gaining widespread acclaim, further establishing their reputation in the global electronic music community.
