Ever since newcomers T.U.R.F. from the Netherlands started making music, they were always heavily influenced by disco music. At first indirectly through the early French/Disco House scene, but soon they found themselves digging in the original disco crates too, with artists like MFSB, Chic, Shalamar, O'Jays and many more amazing artists that still sound fresh to this date. They both are still drawn to the incredible arrangements, groovy rhythms and most of all the positive vibe that is at the core of every disco record.

With their 'Reggie Fox' EP, T.U.R.F. tried to take out all of the elements they love most from disco and give their own touch. Both turned out to be two pumping bass driven adventures, that essentially carry out the same message as the disco music they love: "just dance and have a good time".

T.U.R.F. is the musical project of Lorenzo and Tom. 
They first met at a rave in 2003, where they found out they not only shared the same taste in music but that they were also actively producing music themselves. However, in the years to follow a potential collaboration didn’t even cross their minds. Tom began to focus more on playing live instruments, whereas Lorenzo dove into the depths of electronic music and released groovy techno tunes with his solo project Kurizu.

In 2017 they finally decided to join forces to start a new project: T.U.R.F. – a moniker under which they express their longtime love of house music. Their first studio sessions led to a jazzy and soulful debut record on Apparel Music. Soon after they signed a record contract at the Berlin-based Exploited Records, where they gained heavy support on their sophomore EP Black Jukebox 22 and their latest solo outing 'Bring Me Down'.

As DJs, the pair throws down a wide variety of dance music from the archive they built digging for more than fifteen years, with soulful, swinging grooves as the main thread that glues their dynamic sets together.

Across a string of well received records on Seth Troxlers Play It Say It, 20/20 Vision and Moan Recordings, The Mekanism has honed a refreshingly uninhibited sound - one that pops with joyful expression and works to serve the sort of free-flowing parties he regularly plays across the US and Mexico. Here, he delivers his trademark sound with Do The Disco - a rapturous cut that features percussion from Grammy Award-winning percussionist Jorge Bezerra and an alt sax replaying of Do It At The Disco by Garys Gang by Tom Barford with a gracious nod from Nervous and Uni Disc. The taught skins of Bezerras drums rattle out of the blocks and get things off to an electrifying start. Pattered into dexterous of polyrhythms, they carry that certain energy that drives a marrow-deep motivation to move while a straight 4/4 kick maintains a solid boom throughout. Jorge Bezerra is a Grammy Award-winning Musician and Percussionist who has worked alongside many great artists throughout his career, notably on Ludovic Navarres St Germain project, on stage with the wonderful Melody Gardot and as an integral member of the Joe Zawinul Syndicate that allowed him to share the stage with other greats, such as Herbie Hancock, Bebel Gilberto, Hitonari Tsuji, Cheick Tidiane and Bobby McFerrin. Barfords sax is steadily filtered in while a bossy bass line walks up and down and the mood begins to bubble. Drums, sax and bass take turns to grab centre stage and the resultant vibe is feverish, balmy and jammed full of fun.

Exploited Club warmly welcome in Pleasure Voyage who step up to the plate and do as they do best: casting out a wide musical net, gathering in influences from Breaks, House, Disco, Balearic and Funk whilst pulling in a hefty dose of fun, flair and ecstasy to boot.

'Cuánto Cuesta' is a simmering pot of pure joy. A bubbling bass line has the track on a low boil throughout while luscious, buoyant synths intimately jostle alongside bold but allaying piano chords. Classic breaks snap in the back while a gently acidic lead flexes in and out of focus and the resultant groove sends out a clear and cosy invitation to get loose.

A regular on Johannes Albert's Frank Music's label and Tensnake's True Romance, Claus Casper chips in with his 'No Tengo Dinero' remix - a fortified revision that packs an extra punch with a layered snare, cow bells and an open hat that seasons the groove with a little bite and snap.

Rolling snare fills punctuate the track as Claus creates ramps for sections that showcase his indisputable chops on the keys. The passion and heat of the orignal remains intact as progress tumbles towards a long, spine-tingling breakdown that pops wide open in a manner that will send the floor absolutely nuts.

Exploited Club welcome in power duo EMJIE and Emma B who bounce out 3 classy club cuts packed with groove, energy and panache.

Hailing from Brussels, EMJIE is catching heavy acclaim off the back of records for Get Physical and Yes Yes Yes, as well as a recent B2B with Diplo, a radioshow for Keinemusik and bill-sharing with the likes of Dixon, LP Giobbi and Roman Fluegel. Her sound is characterised by stripped, Indie sonics, classic House and sleek, infectious vocals.

Claus Casper makes one hell of a return to Exploited Club with a dynamo for the dance floor designed to take the lid clean off the party. Claus Casper adds to an extensive catalogue with releases for Johannes Alberts Frank Music and Tensnakes True Romance to name a few. Here, he returns with the crystal clear intent to give DJs something to draw for when the party is at its absolute zenith. A snappy, muscular break is rooted to the ground by a tough 4/4 kick. This forms the bone structure of a groove that gradually whips up a frenzy, stacking exultation in layers as it rolls. A slick, agile bass line keeps energy pulsing in the low end as the track shifts through chapters that are marked by openings for a hands-in-the-air piano line that as the title suggests, is nothing short of glorious. Clever sequencing keeps intensity up as elements are whipped out and slapped back in - somehow feeling more and more jubilant as they return right until the end of a full throttle jam thats got tune of the night written all over it.

Netherlands based duo T.U.R.F. continue a fine run of form with their forthcoming release 'Reggie Fox' on Exploited Records,  Lorenzo and Tom are diggers first and foremost with a heavy Disco influence running through the veins of each production.

With the 'Reggie Fox' EP, T.U.R.F. selected the key elements they love most from Disco and sprinkled their own touch over the release.
