A cosmic event so minuscule and rapid that it is unsure as to whether it even occurred at all. This was the precursor to the formation of String Theory. A group and its self titled album comprised of Epidemic's Hex One and Swedish beat maker Boom Bappin' Zombie Darney. Only outside the realms of a structured paradigm can such a happening even begin to be analyzed. So too only under these conditions can it be formed. With concepts ranging from the abstract to the concrete, this anomaly in space time, this rift in the conscious fabric of reality, this naked singularity attempts to answer the basic human question: who are we really? The ambiguity of the universe's many laws is what drives this question, as every soul on this plane is searching for their own personal theory of everything. We ride it's intergalactic currents, weaving between supposed realities and lucid dreams, only to reminisce on how beautiful it all used to be. A graceful marriage between multilayered resonance and the seemingly forgotten art of rap. The inception of this body of work blurs the notion of identifying it as an album, as it is
simply a juncture made possible by infinitely specific circumstances, without which, String Theory would never have existed at all.

If we are a simulation, then in the ways that matter to us... we are real enough.




08 - Rhythm of the Planet (feat. Tek-nition & D-Rev)

Today, STL GLD (Moe Pope & The Arcitype) release the official video for their single, "Sunrise" featuring Brooklyn shoegaze artist Tea Leigh. Tea's ethereal vocals match Pope’s effortless flow above the understated yet detailed, bed of music provided by The Arcitype. With this release, they announce the duo's upcoming debut album, 'My Monday Morning Music’, due August 12 on AR Classic Records/Brick Records. STL GLD's first single, "Cocaine", premiered on NPR this past March.

'My Monday Morning Music' (or MMMM) takes the listener on a journey of melodies and lyrics derived from the wide range of musical influences Moe Pope and The Arcitype share. From more ambient and introspective moments, to darker, more aggressive content, 'My Monday Morning Music' inspires and evokes an array of emotions throughout the project.  The album features guest appearances from a breadth of notable artists spanning many different genres, including Dua Boakye (Bad Rabbits), Reks (Showoff Records), Ruste Juxx (Duck Down Records), Jake Mehrmann and Chris Klaxton (Tan Vampires), Dutch Rebelle, John Robinson and more.

11 Toronto Featuring Rich Kidd, Tre Mission, DeVah Quartet And Khari Wendell Mcclelland

After showing love to his hometown on "Without Love," U.S. Army Veteran Typ-iLL is back with the neck-snapping "Typ Statik." The blistering track is the first single off his upcoming album, 'Veterans Day,' which is produced entirely by Statik Selektah.

The duo prove themselves to be a complementary force, with both doing the heavy lifting in their respective artistry. Typ instantly grabs your ear, flexing boastful and rewind-worthy rhymes like, "Who am I? A journeyman who's on course/ Never needed a compass, solo with no accomplice/ 'Til that mission's accomplished, my dedication's real/ Educated through living, that's how I became iLL." Not to be outdone, Statik serves up a head-nodding instrumental fueled by melodic strings and good-ol' Boom bap drums. He also laces the hook with his signature scratching, emphasizing his collaborator's name, and further setting the tone.

"Typ Statik" is Hip-Hop for the heads and casual listeners alike—and it's also one hell of a way to kick off the 'Veterans Day' campaign. Be on the lookout for more details on the album soon!

In case you've been wondering what the crew has been up to since Universal dropped, here goes: They jumped into about 3 world tours to promote the album. The ARE dropped Hustler's Theme while Big Mon and Damien came with The Black Album. Then they teamed up with Kay of the Foundation for Ethos. Then The ARE started producing for Keyshia Cole, Lil Kim and LL Cool J, to name a few. Mon and D brought 48 Seasons to life, along with the internet-breaking "George Bush Doesn't Care About Black People". The ARE kept producing for people that you know, then released his Here, My Dear album flip to show you that he still got it. Damien got his hands dirty working with H.I.S.D., Radio Galaxy, and Kashmere Don (aka D Rose). The latter even resulted in a collaboration called RandleRose.

Which brings us back to Legendary. At some point a couple of years ago, they slowed down time long enough to begin putting together the long-awaited OG trio follow up to Universal. 

The cover was custom crafted by the extremely talented Houston based mixed media artist and painter Santos Guerrero. We're even offering the vinyl in 2 colors, because no buying decision should be that easy. If you can't decide, just get both. Of course, the download is included in the price. You wanna keep the wax clean, right?

Anyhow, this is the official start of the journey towards Legendary. Now, we have  to tell you - the vinyl pressing plant told us to expect the records in about 15 weeks, which means that we anticipate them going out to you in January. We'll definitely let you know when the vinyl is on its way from the plant, and will ship everything IMMEDIATELY upon receiving it.

You might want to order it as soon as possible. We're only doing 300 pieces. And if recent history has taught us anything, it's going to go FAST. Thanks in advance for supporting this project, and thanks for rocking with KO for nearly a quarter of a century.
