With the original track from Faysha being released last year, this release features remixes from some heavy hitters in the drum and bass scene. Conrad Subs, whose remix has been doing damage in the clubs features on this one, alongside J.O.E, Speaker Louis, Niterider, Leks and Dj Direkt. The track was well received first time round, with over 1000 downloads on Soundcloud, and these remixes are set to do further damage.

No stranger to the scene, up next we have a totally wicked 5 track debut solo EP from Berlin based Japanese prolific producer & DJ, Tomoyoshi.

Tomoyoshi - Listen:- Starting off with a down riser and filtering wobbles, the short intro doesn't keep you waiting long for the drop. When it hits it's pure rolling drums and deep bass, you'll be drawing for this every set.

Tomoyoshi - Approach:- Straight into track two we have this vibing number. Starting off with a soulful, funky intro and tight, crisp drums. Moving forward with a classic style bass riff, notice the mesmerizing sheen on the snare drum and the second drop, proper vibes!

Tomoyoshi - Back In The Dayz:- The EP's title track is absolutely off the hook and you could say it is a nod to the Full Cycle, V Recordings and Philly Blunt labels. Expect hypnotising pads, stepping drums, distorted 808s, wob basses and classy ear candy... Back in the dayz!

Tomoyoshi - Emptiness Is Form:- Opening up with a half time intro break laced with catchy pads and the bass and beats filtering in, when the alluring subs arrive they are hitting hard like a train.

Tomoyoshi - Bad:- Last but definitely not least, bad enters with a really eerie soundscape and distorted guitar like sounds, filtering drums which take you through to the drop. Followed by a bassline that will have you pulling your best bass face! Definitely not one to show your Nan.

Neil Badboy ist ein Drum & Bass-Original. Der DJ aus Northampton ist seit einer halben Ewigkeit unterwegs, um aufzulegen. Eigenen Produktionen widmet er sich inzwischen auch bereits seit mehr als einer Dekade. Sie brachten ihn zu Labels wie Grand Theft Audio, Damagemans Sub Heavy Audio oder er releaste kurzerhand auf dem eigenen Imprint Lethal Impact Recordings, dessen Gründung bis ins Jahr 2009 zurückreicht. Neil Badboy repräsentiert Drum and Bass, der in bester Tradition des UK-Sounds steht und damit die Verbindung zwischen Oldskool und Upfront herstellt. Dies hört man natürlich auch seiner „Emergency Broadcast-EP“ an, die gleichzeitig die erste EP mit ausschließlich UK-Tracks auf UTM-Records ist. Dennoch haben die sechs Stücke allesamt ihre eigene Herangehensweise. Mal schmettert uns Neil in Rollout-Manier derbe Kicks um die Ohren („Emergency Broadcast“); dann gibt´s rollenden Jump Up („Make You Understand“, „How Dare You“); genauso kann er Stepper („Can´t Say Goodbye“); Slammer („Technique“) und Roller („Erase Your Soul“). Im UK-Verständnis ist ein „Badboy“ sicher jemand, der vieles kann. Hier trifft das auf jeden Fall zu. Badboy Release!
