Sandman Jam

Belgium based music producer J.Nomad, real name Jessie Thijs produces Footwork/Jungle and Juke music.
Starting his musical journey in 2015 on Halogen Music being part of a various artists album gave him the likes of Belgian Dnb guru Murdock (Rampage). What followed was a single together with UK based music producer Crypticz that they released on Halogen Music aswell. “Downfall” dropped hard and got picked up by Om Unit and Hyroglifics to name a few.
After releasing a couple of other tracks including releases on Antwerp based footwork label Footjuice and a collab with Canadian beat wizards Greazus on Halogen Music, J.Nomad was being featured on Corrupted’s “Bussaback EP” with two collabs including “Holdin’ On” wich got picked up by Friction and being played on his legendary BBC 1Xtra Show.
 J.Nomad tries to grab back to the 90’s sound combined with chopped breakbeats and sampled iconic vocals that shaped the 90’s.

Almost a full year since her refreshingly idiosyncratic debut, ‘Ode To Olé’, ‘The Workers’
EP maintains the signature lush soundscaping we’ve come to know and love, but ups the percussive ante.
The South Londoner’s love of more traditional drum & bass comes into focus on opening track ‘Our Ancestors’ Dream’, where hints of influences like the late, great Marcus Intalex and Bristol stalwart DJ Krust peak through the drumfunk aesthetic.
Her own jazz touch remains the most prominent feature — displayed vividly via vocal snatches, the widescreen sax of the breakdown, and subsequent halftime switch. ‘The Second Insurgency’ finds rolling drum work once again at the forefront, this time cushioned by a velveteen low-end and swathes of silken pads. Heavy delay FX point to dubwise inspiration here, and are carried over into the title track, where the thrum of propulsive kicks and BrandNewTrumpets’ own wispy vox, create a work of striking
textural beauty. As with her first outing, tempo is a secondary concern, with the bpm differing wildly
between each track. Instead, a dramatically detailed, absorbing world forms the heart of
each piece, resulting in tracks that are as moving through headphones as they are on a
soundsystem.
