The latest contribution to the CR mix series comes all the way from our Estonian friend, Üllar Siir.

Not only does he have a black belt in sweet music but also carries a A++++ rating on the disco sales/wants/trades page (rare).

Üllar has certainly put many, many, amazing soulful obscurities on our radar, kindly shipped them to our door and on top of all that, has managed to press record for us and deliver a beautiful mix for our autumn ears.

Crown Ruler Mix # 5 - Üllar Siir

The first collector to introduce her/himself on "5918mins.“ is "exte82“ aka veterinarian Üllar Siir from Tallinn, Estonia. Üllar delivers 72 minutes of Rare Psych (aka those 7inches that you only come across once in your life-time, if ever). Within the mix, he proves his uncompromising commitment to music, far detached from genre-hypes. 

While he is certainly one of the most-respected out there (just ask Soul-fanatico Jeremy Underground),  we found Üllar’s focus on the essence of what it means to be a music-collector particularly impressive. Üllar digs completely in his own realm. His taste is so distinct that we even got into the habit of describing certain music as "exte-type-records“. Together with his ability to casually pull out tracks that leave you speechless (e.g. 3rd track in this mix), it was instantly clear that he had to do the first mix in this project (and we’re very happy it came together!).

The trio of Norm, Rémi & Simon is among the most promising crew of DJs/diggers to arise in the Parisian landscape of tropical music enthusiasts. Bayetë selectors bring out their best finds on their Youtube channel in order to take you on a journey through Africa, the French Islands, the Caribbeans as well as 80’s & 90’s electronic oddities. In their own words, this podcast is “a mix of soft, mellow, light, iodized pop sounds; an hour of romantic ‘schmooze music'”. And exciting news: the trio is about to put out their first edits release in a few months time, with appearances from Berlin-based Venezuelan digger Trujillo and Russian wizard Beard In Dust!

We finish off 2020 with a fine mix by NYC's very own DJ Lloyd. And it was worth the wait. He always digs deep and keeps it fresh as he tears his way through a bunch of 80s Disco covers like only he can.
