Mientras en los 80 el centro de España expresaba la liberación socio-política del
país con el hedonismo de lo que después de conocería como “La movida
Madrileña”, en el norte de España se forjaba un sonido punk transgresor y
reivindicativo que marcó toda una generación. Desde entonces Euskadi mantiene la
tradición de una rica cultura musical alternativa.
En ese marco social y cultural crece Mario Castillo conocido actualmente con el
nombre artístico de Kastil. Su interés por la música se nutre directamente del auge
que la música electrónica tiene en la zona norte del país a finales de los 90 y que
coincide con su adolescencia durante la cual iniciará su aprendizaje como DJ.
Posteriormente se verá implicado en la promoción de eventos musicales y clubs
underground en el País Vasco. Será poco después cuando iniciará su producción
musical que definirá su trayectoria a partir de ese momento y que ya nunca dejará
de evolucionar hasta hoy en día.
En 2011 decide crear su propio sello bajo el nombre de “Soul Notes”, enfocado a la
música house underground y que está fuertemente influenciado por el sonido house
americano. La constante evolución de su trabajo como productor así como la
evolución del sonido de club de la escena techno; le lleva de una forma natural y
con clara vocación evolutiva a crear en 2015 un nuevo sello con el nombre de
“Stale”; dedicado al techno underground experimental y en el que edita su propia
música a la vez que invita a productores afines a publicar música de forma
esporádica.
Su pasión por el diseño de sonido, la mezcla y la producción a nivel profesional, le
han empujado en los últimos años a crear un sonido propio característico que
plasma tanto en sus producciones como en sus DJ sets o Live sets y que ha sido
reconocido por la escena internacional de artistas y clubs colocando a Kastil entre
uno de los máximos exponentes del techno de vanguardia internacional actual.
En el inicio de la década de los 20 sigue desarrollando su proyecto y
perfeccionando su sonido, al mismo tiempo que gana reputación como ingeniero de
mastering y colabora con otros artistas en proyectos como “No Spiritual Surrender”
o “Yelling Meltdown”.

 For the past fifteen years Argentinian-born, Barcelona-based producer Pfirter has been pushing a sound by turns steely, dark and uplifting, true to the founding principles of the techno's tetramorph but eager to throw his own vanguard, personal touch into the mix. 
 From the early days onward, and no matter the medium of expression he's used, be it DJing, producing or as a label owner, Pfirter has kept working his magic with focus and style, gracing the likes of CLR, Figure and Stroboscopic Artefacts with some choice singles whilst headlining some of the most infamous electronic music bastions and events including Berghain, Tresor, Concrete, Awakenings and Time Warp. Ever since he embarked on his first European tour back in 2005, Juan Pablo has tirelessly worked at shaping one of the most idiosyncratic sounds in contemporary electronic music and successfully so.

Sounds From NoWhere welcomes aboard the Dutch dj & producer DJ Surgeles (Axis Records).

Kole Leijen is a true musician with a lot of energy.
He started digging into his parent’s records collection at the age of five and at the young age of eight his sister introduced him to house music. 
Soon after that, young Surgeles got his first set of turntables as a present for his birthday and started visiting regularly his local record dealer. 
While after a couple of years he started producing his own dark, deep and swerving techno. In 2005, while attending a Jeff Mills’s show, Surgeles managed to give a demo CD to The Wizard. 
The very next day Surgeles received a personal mail from Jeff Mills claiming that his music sounded great and that it inspired him to let Surgeles make a mix for his Purpose Maker Label. 
Two weeks later Surgeles’ mix was on Jeffs Mills’ Axis Records’ website for the 10th anniversary of the all-time Techno anthem "The Bells". 
Later that year, during the Amsterdam Dance Event, Surgeles won a competition hosted by Dave Clarke for the best produced track and was than picked to play on Dave Clarke’s White Noise radio show on 3FM Radio. Around 2007 Kole started throwing his own parties called ‘Civilized?” at the legendary Escape club in Amsterdam. 
While 2009 marked the beginning of his career as record-label boss, as he launched his brainchild: ‘Underground Freedom Fighters (UFF) Records’. ! 
Ever since, the collaborations with Jeff Mills kept on flowing and Surgeles' consecration came when Jeff asked him to make a compilation for his label, ‘Something In The Sky’. ! 
In 2017 Jeff entrusted DJ Surgeles to take care of “the Betty Hill Case”, a 12” inspired by the story and the interviews of an American couple, who were allegedly abducted by extraterrestrials in a rural portion of New Hampshire in 1961. 
Since then his work for Jeff Mills' Axis-The Escape Velocity is continuing and lead into the album release "1883" in October 2022.
Today we are thrilled to host this epic set through his sound.

Alex Dolby has reached the coveted ground of over 15 years of releasing music and seen his high pedigree of creations landing on labels ranging from Global Underground, John Digweed’s Bedrock, to more recently Emmanuel’s ARTS, Developer’s Modularz and DJ Emerson’s Micro.fon amongst others.

Development and experimentation are the main influences in his sound as Alex has firmly settled on creating expressive techno. A deep love for analogue sounds, rough textures and tough rhythms are accompanied by dystopian aesthetics. A clear focus on functional club weaponry is wrapped up in his productions to pay homage to the dance floors he draws so much inspiration from.

Diversifying his legacy as a music connaisseur, Alex launched the respected Affekt Recordings in 2012 that has a catalogue of music from the likes of Pär Grindvik, Alex Bau, Mental Resonance, VSK, and MTD for example as he continues to enterprise and enlist new talent apace with established artists.

This label project also culminated in the emergence of Affekt Club that situated in his Italian home town of Frosinone, is a reflection of the labels output that inspires the clubs ethos of underground culture and musical standards.

Alex’s contemporary fourth studio album in 2018 “Fault System” has reinforced his noteriety as a leading light and much loved creative. Picking up heavyweight support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Chris Liebing, Charlotte de Witte, Marcel Dettmann, Ben Sims, Jonas Kopp, Ø [Phase], Dax J, Truncate and Etapp Kyle to name only a few.

Added to this, one of his hit records from the 2006 album of the same name “Psiko Garden” recently received a remix in the first entry of the Classic Reworks vinyl series for Affekt from the unrelenting Manchester duo AnD (Electric Deluxe/CLR), bringing a much loved nostalgic gem into new territory.

The successes Alex has achieved have allowed him to travel around the world to play revered locations such as DC10 (Ibiza), Extrema Festival (Belgium), Bonusz Festival (Hungary), Griessmuhle (Berlin), Sazae (Osaka), Branceleone (Rome) or Cafè D’Anvers (Belgium) where he has shared his passionate and ardent sounds as he maintains an imperative grasp on the hearts and minds through the affirmation of his cherished contributions.

Kick-off the series in 2021 with a very special guest from Italy. Label owner, photographer and exceptional sound explorer Alessandro Russo. Son of an artist, he approached to music at young age. Over the years he played and released under varius pseudonyms, but in 2015 he defined his artistic personality with an unique alias: Evod.

The highlights of his career are his debut at Tresor and having shared a stage with Jeff Mills, his idol and source of inspiration. Evod recently released "Fonderia LP" on Oscar Mulero's Warm Up Recordings. He had also published on Singular Records, Float Records and his own platform Evod Music co-founded with Oisel.

His mainly vinyl sets are charachterized by pounding and deep sonorities, influenced by ambient sounds as well as showing the spirit of Detroit techno in his groove based track selection.
