Moody, mysterious, and beautiful. Without knowing the context within which you see it in your head, it doesn't sound anything like menu music to me; it's just so evocative. For me it conjures up images of exploration and peril, as in a platformer or something.

9月17日、渋谷MIYASHITA PARK内「or TOKYO」にて開かれたSHIBUYA PIXEL ART 2023のオープニングイベント、「音電Opening Night!」 のMIXに、当日どうしてもかけたかった曲（14）を追加しました。
チップチューン、チップミュージックと一口に言っても、実機を基準に置く制作や演奏環境がより相対化され、より漠然とした、かつニッチなジャンルになりつつあるようです。このMIXでは、過去約十年の「Chiptune」とタグ付けされた幅広いトラックから選曲しています。nanoloopのようなソフトウェアを用いた曲もあれば、参照する「実機」が何か不明なDAWトラックも含まれます。
Blip FestivalやSquare Soundのような大きなイベントではチップミュージックとダンスミュージックの接合が多く見られ、当時はとりわけダブステップをよく耳にしました。チップチューン・パーティがさらに稀少化し、コロナ禍も到来することで、「フロア」からやや遠ざかってしまったかに見えるこのシーンに、ダンスという文脈を今一度持ち込みたく、後半はJuke/Footworkが多めになっています。

SHIBUYA PIXEL ART is the biggest annual Shibuya-based pixelart event in Japan and this year it also had the opening party called Onden 音電. Pixelart is often related to chip sounds and some performers at the event were in the chip scene in a borad sense. So this party reminded me Blip Festival and Square Sounds and I wanted to play modern danceable chiptunes under the context.
Although Dubstep was a strong option in the chip scene before, Juke/Footwork was comparatively minor then. I think little-scale is one of the pioneering musician who tried to make Juke/Footwork chipmusic. That is why the latter hald of the mix includes his track and devoted to the genre.
