Hailing from Brusque, Brazil, Ricardo Hingst (known artistically as HNGT) is quickly becoming one of the country’s most exciting prospects. Raising his profile as a DJ and producer with performances at D EDGE, Elfortin, Terraza and Surreal, and releases on the likes of Createch and now Victor Ruiz’s VOLTA imprint, HNGT is well on his way to being one of Brazil’s leading electronic names.

HNGT’s debut on VOLTA is an impressive three-tracker showcasing a depth in musicality with a firm grasp on modern techno flavours. Beginning with the title track, ‘Rebel’ dives straight into hard-hitting rhythms and rippling resonance. Firm drums and driving hat grooves pave the way for an onslaught of ethereal- laced melodies embraced by a soulful female vocal hook, blending in and out of atmospheric breakdowns to carve out a stunning opening track.

‘Artificial Awareness’ comes next, bringing racy ominous vibes from the outset. Another impressive display of synth-led techno is on display here, building around gritty electronic textures, glitchy fills and a robotic vox to deliver a darkened peak-time stomper.

‘Future World’ closes the release with a moody interplanetary persona, highlighting more of HNGT’s boundless creativity and writing skills. Gonzalo F, Nico Rivera - Message To The Future (Original Mix)

"Binary Fusion" is a dynamic techno collaboration between Metodi Hristov and Anna Tur. The track opens with a pulsing, insistent bassline that immediately sets the tone for what's to come. 

As the beat kicks in, a series of epic melodies begin to intertwine and build upon one another, creating a rich, layered sonic landscape. The melodies are at once haunting and uplifting, conveying a sense of tension and release that propels the track forward. 

The track's standout feature is the use of a weird arpeggiator, which adds a distinct, otherworldly element to the mix. The arpeggiator's spiraling, hypnotic pattern weaves in and out of the melody, creating a sense of disorienting, yet captivating complexity.

MEK's record label 1605 is back with the latest instalment in its Desiderati 4 mixed artist series, which features peak time techno tracks from Sam WOLFE, Kos:mo, Phoenix Movement, plus a collaboration between Førehand and Rooney Nasr.

American artist, Sam WOLFE is a 1605 regular whose last appearance on the label was a collaboration with UMEK, but has also featured his explosive style on other labels such as Senso Sounds, Tronic and Phobiq.

This time he is back with a solo track titled "Running From Yourself" which features spoken word vocals from Amye. It's a hard-hitting track with an ethereal breakdown that adds eerie contrast to the dark and thundering groove.

Kos:mo is a German artist from Cologne who is making his 1605 debut following the success of his releases on other influential record labels such as Spektre's Respekt and Space 92's Perfekt Groove.

His track "Voices From Above" has a pulsating bassline and hammering kick drum that form the foundation for the modulating tones of a menacing arpeggio, pitched vocals, and the tension of a spiralling synth sound.

Phoenix Movement is a well-known Bulgarian techno artist who is making his 1605 debut following music released via scene-leading record labels such as Metodi Hristov's Set About and Cosmic Boys' Scander.

His track "With You" has ominous bass stabs and captivating vocals that are propelled by a pulsating bassline. Its intense atmosphere unleashes a relentless energy that pauses only for the spine-tingling suspense of the breakdown before the drums slam back in.

Førehand and Rooney Nasr are a pair of up-and-coming producers who are working together for the first time. Rooney Nasr is a Lebanese artist who has previously featured on The YellowHeads Reload Black and Spartaque's IAMT Red, while Førehand is a Turkish has worked with record labels such as Revealed Recordings and Dharma (WMG) which is an offshoot of Spinnin' Records.

Their track "Never Know" is built around a framework of chunky percussion with a thickset kick drum, which is overlaid with the twisted euphoria of an uplifting melody. Industrial sounds burst forth from the dark atmosphere as it unfolds with a ferocious intensity.
