After his ‘& Friends’ VA earlier this year, Nic Zega makes his way back to Black Seven in tandem with Greck B for a whopping two-track EP. Accompanying the pair is rising Canadian talent Vaxx, making his first appearance on the label with a remix.

Opening the release, 'Redbone' sets the pace with driving drums, an acid bassline and layered percussive flair. Prominent melodies then come to the fore with strings and big synths building climactic energy - spurred on by a catchy vocal hook. This track screams "peak time"; handle with care - this one is extra hot!

'Retro Girl' comes next with rolling terrace energy. Punchy drums and crisp hat grooves bounce over the top of shuffled percs and rhythmic sub-bass. The track comes with an undeniable late-summertime anthem element - brought on via Balearic-style melodies and another prominent vocal topline. This is real 'hands in the air' stuff.

Closing the release, Vaxx's remix of 'Retro Girl' gives it a rawer and more underground edge. The Canadian producer stamps his robust low-frequency signature on the track, taking it in a whole new direction - deeper, darker and ready to stomp to.

Black Seven Music marks its second birthday with a seven-track VA, filled with blistering dancefloor heaters from start to finish. 

To celebrate two fantastic years of releases from talented artists globally, we are delighted to present a generously groove-filled VA featuring a carefully handpicked collection of artists who have undoubtedly delivered the goods for our latest compilation. 

Raresh Rush kicks things off with ‘Dreaming’, combining racy drum work with a roaring bassline and sultry female vocals to carve out a high-energy club record for the peak segment of the party. Bursting with subtle melody and catchy elements, this one is a certified toe-tapper!

Nicolas Martinez’s ‘Don’t Stop’ follows with looser swung rhythms and a more relaxed tempo. Building around endless layers of tonal percussion, a roaring sub-bass melody and a catchy vox hook, the track sports a laid-back personality but packs an impressively potent punch. 

‘The Shaman’ sees Shakti roll out a heavyset cut with a jacking flow and vigorous low-end drive. Swingin drums and monster-sized bass notes push the track forwards alongside delicate percussion and a psychedelic vocal topline that will lead you down the rabbit hole with relative ease.

Juran Jones’ ‘Gotham’ comes next, cranking the tempo back up. Emphasising piercing instrumental sequences that create fast-paced movement, it also employs lightning-fast sub-bass that hits you right in the chest whilst quirky fills, melodic shots & creative vox chops tie it all together.

Brazilian duo Heavy Street are next with ‘Goodbye’, keeping the speed at a premium and the low-frequency sound thick. Deep melodies and seductive vocals lull you into a false serenity before the track pushes its thunderous hotbed of elements upon you with no warning. 

‘Keziah’ showcases a funky approach from Antony PL, carving out an upbeat peak time record. A rough and ready bouncing bassline drives the track forward alongside a train of punchy kicks, rippling percussion and fizzing hats. Accompanying the impressively firm core is a wave of creative flavours and samples from end to end.

Markyno & Fernando Monfeli bring the compilation to a close with ‘Step By Step’. A swirling arrangement of bright organ stabs, rave-inspired synths and vocal phrases set alongside a chunky combination of hard-hitting drum work and sub-bass notes, ending the release on an almighty bang!
