Oblinof (he/him) @oblinof is a project born in 2007 in Entre Rios, Argentina, working in multiple artistic disciplines such as video art and animation, 3D printing and sculptures, VR and holograms, and music. The artist’s cutting-edge productions articulate in heavily percussive, multi-layered, club-oriented compositions traducing different influences in a highly energetic, high-bandwidth experience on the dancefloor. The quintessential Oblinof outing is represented by the trilogy composed of the "Post Internet Club" EP [Unizone, 2019], continued with the "元​數​據​火​車​站 (Metadata Train Station)" EP [Soul Feeder, 2021], and now reaching its third and final stage called “V3” EP, out on December 8th on our platform. 

Reaching the perfect synthesis of chaotic sound bursts and obsessive rhythmic textures, “V3” is a 3-tracker EP consisting of 160 BPM club-ready bangers, as hard-hitting it can get yet developed with a rather minimalistic approach, peculiarly reflected in the abstract track titles and the awe-inspiring artwork authored by Oblinof himself. The carefully designed, trancey compositions offer a staggering work of pulsating violence in the form of tremendously energetic anthems, which are also at times found indulging in introspective undertones promoting inner exploration while sweating on the dancefloor. 

Introspective tones that are taken up by Karlfroye (she/her) @karlfroye in the closing remix. With her contribution, the artist, DJ, and producer from Southern France, affiliated with the Explity Music label @explitymusic and known in the scene for setting up enthralling outings, adds an extra layer of complexity in the form of a fantastical, epic take on the original opening track where hardcore kicks combine with dembow, heavenly vocals, and tense melodies.

Sueuga (she/her) @sueuga is a Mexican artist, DJ, and producer known for her releases on pivotal labels such as NAAFI, Hiedrah, Salviatek, Sacrilejio, Soul Feeder, Arboretum, and Precious Metals among the others. Now based in Amsterdam but raised in Oakland, California where she started her music career by collaborating with artists from the Neoperreo scene, Sueuga has been an important actress in the contemporary scene thanks to her experimental, mutant club outings primarily inspired by industrial music and dominated by unsettling atmospheres, ferocious drums, and abrasive textures. We’re very excited to announce the release of her new “Conflict Areas” EP that will be out on Friday, February 16th.

The 5-tracker opens up with a short and eerie introduction called “Dragged” which indeed abruptly drags the listener into a perilous sound journey composed of explosive rhythmic discharges that also extend to the second and third tracks, the titular “Conflict Areas” and “Heat Therapy”. Thanks to its extensively variegated yet immediately accessible and catchy compositions, Sueuga’s awe-inspiring work manages to summon dark, infernal scenarios while also envisioning bright futures of long-awaited victory, offering a commentary on the existential struggle of unconditionally and wholeheartedly affirming one’s existence in turbulent, oppressive times. With its sense of unavoidable and relentless tension, the entire EP is an act of belligerent resistance in sound form.

The two final tracks host collaborations with the founder of the overmybody.tw label, Taipei-based DJ and producer B E N N @bedoublensound, and Duma’s noise/metal experimental musician Sam Karugu, respectively. While the first one (“Hidden Fees”) indulges into the heavy-hitting, cadenced percussive progressions previously shown in the rest of the EP (and here enriched by deep, bursting basslines and a ghastly melody), the latter (“MMXXIII”) provides a free-form anthem for all the metalheads where rumbling distortion and eerie vocals meet incessant lamentations and gurgling noise in the background.
