Fedele’s penchant for synthesizer techniques and drum machines has caught the ear of global tastemakers, with projects released on the likes of Turbo, Afterlife, and Ellum receiving support from the likes of Maceo Plex, Tiga, Tale of Us, Dixon, John Digweed, Miss Kittin, and DJ Stingray. With sights set towards summer peak, the Italian returns to his Obscura Music imprint with his latest work, ‘The Awake, Pt. 1’. Storied German duo Extrawelt arrive on remix duty, taking the reins on ‘Riot Dance’ to twist a low-slung groover. They bring the bassline into the foreground, keeping a delightful vibe alive and welcoming a touch of light to the dark underbelly of the original, before diving back into the deep as the track unfolds.

Years of simmering mutual admiration between Turbo and Architectural finally erupt with Good Night, Whatever That Is, the Asturian producer's first release on the label. 

Nothing gets us hot and bothered like the prospect of featuring a true artist on Turbo. In fact, we are so f-ing jazzed to be working with techno genius Architectural that we even dropped scrappy “fun-house” producer Archie Textures from our roster to avoid confusion.

The Good Night, Whatever That Is EP imbues the timeless platonic forms of techno with an energy, craft and depth that will feel instantly familiar to anyone who has built a cathedral with their bare hands. And yet  the unadulterated power of lead single “Steampunk” and the even-less-adulterated power of “Tubular Funk,” confirm that this release also has one foot squarely planted on the secular dance floor, coursing with the searing bio-fluids that drive and torment all sexual beings. Meanwhile, your deep human need for contrast will be sated by the IDM-ambient euphorics of “Eternity Land” and the highbrow breaks of “Rousing Rhythms”. 

In the interest of exposing this work to as many thought-hungry minds as possible, we will be randomly hiding 10,000 copies of the EP on CD-R in bottles of Drakkar Noir energy drink at participating supermarkets throughout the Americas and Eurasia. Our hope is that this marks the moment many of you finally become teachable, fully accepting that getting razor-like shards of CD-R lodged in your throat is simply the price of admission to the Idea Man’s Ball.

This four-track EP harnesses all the intensity and hi-NRG of a husband’s father stepping into the club for the very first time, distilling techno, house, jacking, house-jacking, and electro to their most ecstatic vibrational essence.

The bee-eater is the most colorful bird of our native lands; a quality which is echoed through the piece of the same name. The composition oscillates from one color into another without losing its significant habitus. It is a musical journey through the color scheme of the bee-eater, through which Dominik Eulberg takes us by way of his iconic style. He succeeds at a striking balancing act between sensitive subtlety and steady pressure, in order to offer us a satisfying share of hedonism. It is a piece of music that provides an intimate listening experience, while simultaneously supplying listeners with a collective, mobilizing anthem. The long introduction of the track emulates the agile flight for prey of the dazzling bird, but then it fervently taps out the stinger of the captured bee, and finally nothing can stand in the way of the massiveness of the celebratory bass drum. Intrepid, yet with a high degree of ataraxia, Dominik leads us through the skies on an expedition into the colorful land of the bee-eater.
