Over the past decade, Egyptian-born, Barcelona-based DJ and techno producer Raxon has popped out a steady stream of twelve-inch singles, precision-tooled, for labels like Cocoon, Drumcode, Diynamic, Truesoul, and Ellum Audio. An alumni of Kompakt’s Speicher series – check the insistent, vibrating pulses of “The Ancient” and “Dark Light” on 2019’s Speicher 107 he boarded the Kompakt mothership with last year’s Sound Of Mind (KOMPAKT 433). A long-awaited debut album that is both for the dancefloor and the boudoir, traversing the heat of the club and the warmth of the home.

And just in time for what we expect to be a full return to festival season, “Sound Of Mind” got the remix treatment. Raxon takes on his ambient cut “Exit Station” and churns it into a minimal stomper. We welcome one of our favourite producers of the moment, Japan’s Wata Igarashi and he doesn’t disappoint delivering his signature trance fuelled techno to album favourite “El Multiverse”….last, but not least, the legendary duo Extrawelt went so far as to create two distinctly different remixes of “Droid Solo”. One keeps the float and meander of the original track but with a four to the floor drive that’ll work in any peak time set. Their Radical Remix embellishes on the breaks and beats of the original for the deep space heads.

With sights set towards summer peak, the Italian returns to his Obscura Music imprint with his latest work, ‘The Awake, Pt. 1’. Storied German duo Extrawelt arrive on remix duty, taking the reins on ‘Riot Dance’ to twist a low-slung groover. They bring the bassline into the foreground, keeping a delightful vibe alive and welcoming a touch of light to the dark underbelly of the original, before diving back into the deep as the track unfolds.

Years of simmering mutual admiration between Turbo and Architectural finally erupt with Good Night, Whatever That Is, the Asturian producer's first release on the label. 

Nothing gets us hot and bothered like the prospect of featuring a true artist on Turbo. In fact, we are so f-ing jazzed to be working with techno genius Architectural that we even dropped scrappy “fun-house” producer Archie Textures from our roster to avoid confusion.

The Good Night, Whatever That Is EP imbues the timeless platonic forms of techno with an energy, craft and depth that will feel instantly familiar to anyone who has built a cathedral with their bare hands. And yet  the unadulterated power of lead single “Steampunk” and the even-less-adulterated power of “Tubular Funk,” confirm that this release also has one foot squarely planted on the secular dance floor, coursing with the searing bio-fluids that drive and torment all sexual beings. Meanwhile, your deep human need for contrast will be sated by the IDM-ambient euphorics of “Eternity Land” and the highbrow breaks of “Rousing Rhythms”. 

In the interest of exposing this work to as many thought-hungry minds as possible, we will be randomly hiding 10,000 copies of the EP on CD-R in bottles of Drakkar Noir energy drink at participating supermarkets throughout the Americas and Eurasia. "Everything was better in the old days" has always been questionable. Music-wise we have seen major developments across the genres from the eighties until today. One track that defnitely ruled the clubs in the early years was Transform's "Transformation". Justifably considered an absolute cult hit, it seemed reasonable to see if a contemporary remix of such a classic could turn today's dancefoors upside down just as well as original did in the past. And hear for yourselves, it can! 
The original with its raw, puristic and light-footed vibe, spiced up with a hypnotic acid line and topped off with its famous vocal snippet that burned itself into the minds of millions of ravers in the glorious 90s, can certainly be labeled "timeless". Consequently the choice of remixer could hardly been more suitable with a guy who is responsible for a number of timeless classics such as "Hale Bopp" and "Electric Friends" himself. We are talking about "Der Dritte Raum" of course. 
Andreas Krueger aka "Der Dritte Raum" takes "Transformation" into the 21st century in the tried and tested way that we've always known and respected this gentleman for: hypnotic, driving and incredibly sophisticated. This remix honors the original and promises to become a hit itself. We are excited for this overdue comeback. Welcome to the future.
