2015 saw Stephan Bodzin release his second full length, “Powers of Ten”, as well as a new single on DJ Tennis’ and Tale of Us’ taste making label Life and Death. The album is another magical piece of work that focuses on melody and rhythm, on fat bass and vivid sound design and is a truly captivating journey through the mind, music, body and soul of one of dance music’s truly modern greats. After its release, a great team of modern music makers was enlisted to remix tracks from it: Maceo Plex & Shall Ochin, Fur Coat, Extrawelt, long time musical sparring partner Marc Romboy, Pan-Pot, Max Cooper, Agents of Time, Dominik Eulberg and many more all contributed to what is an essential collection. With a remix of ‘Sleepless’, a Pan-Pot track from their latest album, Stephan Bodzin closed the latest chapter of 2015 in what has been an exhilarating musical journey in his capable and creative hands.

Crazy Sonic debuts on Stripped Down this May with 'Light Fair', featuring a collaboartion with Brazil's ALE F and backed with a superb set of remixes from Extrawelt, Kotelett and Joyce Muniz.

Austrian talent, Rudolf Wrany aka Crazy Sonic is a highly respected producer and DJ in his hometown of Vienna, with a history dating all the way back to his breakout in the golden era of the 90's. Back then, he met the globally renowned Kruder and Dorfmeister, which led him to his infamous 'Tuesday Electronica CRAZY' club nights at FLEX alongside the likes of Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, Tiefschwarz and Get Physical's M.A.N.D.Y.. With previous releases on Tronic, Sonusfield & Time Has Changed Records, he continues to build on his stellar discography here with a new EP on Claudio Ricci's Stripped Down imprint.

Title cut 'Light Fair' is an immediately captivating opener, fueled by subtle melodic elements, warm bass and an hypnotic groove which come together to deliver a futuristic club hit. The groove continues to flow with a remix from Hamburg duo Extrawelt, who offer a reworking rich with arpegiated synths, deep chords and distorted elements which build the foundation to this darker and more sinister production. Berlin's Kotelett, best known as one half of Kotelett & Zadak, takes things into spacey, atmospheric territory with trippy effects, rising stabs and subtle keys.

Next up is Joyce Muniz's jackin' remix of 'Strings & Stripes', which takes the disco string sample of the original and twists it into something refined yet floorfilling. Finally we have that original of 'Strings & Stripes', a collaborative recording with Sao Paolo artist and international DJ ALE F. The track reveals a raw and feel-good house sound, fueled by a perfectly used, cut up disco sample.

Needless to say the original of "Doch Doch" is one of the most influential trax in German techno history ever made. For a lot of clubbers that track is a religious experience! For more than 10 years now it has been a cultural phenomenon. It intensified emotions and it certainly cemented communities of old school and new school ravers at the same time. This was also a reason why it was so difficult to get remixers in the past… nobody wanted to touch the track.
The simplicity of the track where silence is as important as the notes played also does not make it easier for a remixer. Boomcat at the time said: „Doch Doch is simply put, MASSIVE!!! Ultra-heavy driving, classic technomeets-dubstep beelines, incredible sound design and production and an erupting melody, all together generating a hugely powerful rocker for the dance floor. Flip-side „Last Past“ is an electroid rhythm box track, a dark, night crawler, made for the hours where the party can be massaged by impulses as far from melodies as it can get - just beats and stabs and howling dry sounds, low and
fierce.“ Now we were lucky Extrawelt have dug out Harald Björk’s unreleased remix from 2007. Why we could not release it then totally escaped our memory, because it is a good remix. Certainly paying
tribute to the time then when not everything was sounding fat and bassy. Swedish artist Harald Björk started releasing music around 2006 as a youngster living life in Berlin with his buddy Petter (Border Community / Studio Barnhus). We released with him at an really early stage in 2007. His "Brus " (Traum 083) EP fitting very well to our label profile and in fact was released just one year after we signed Extrawelt’s "Doch Doch". At that time we did not know Svan Väth played Harald’s early release on Traum which obviously
lead to a release on a Cocoon compilation and later to his release in 2020. This remix release here now includes a remix for Extrawelt done in 2007 which is unreleased and an 2020 version which ich very different to the early remix. You will realize the 2007 remix captures the energy of "Doch Doch" with a „hands on“ feeling whereas the 2020 reflects his state of the art productionwise. The artwork connects to the original zebra artwork for the remix series released in 2007.
