Uncompelling circumstance and chance behaviour, I feel like a balloon full of murky water. I am a pot full of stew that had quickly been stirred. All of my contents swirling, brimming at the surface waiting to bubble over the lip of the pot, and dribble down to the base of the stove, all the while slightly evaporating and emitting a welcoming smell, the smell of my self burning up to provide some sense of home. My output becomes untampered but not perfect, just searching for a way to crawl through the air and touch your receptors. My stomach is a bagpipe, honking and roaring with the message of polyphony. I sit here wondering if I'm doing the right things, and if there are even any right things to be done. There is no objectiveness to the ambiguity i feel. It is simply that life is not black and white, it is a cascading pulse and rhythm of grayscale patterns ebbing and flowing from one shade to another, and often they move in such great frequencies that it can be nauseating, and that's where I am today. Things are moving in a manner I anticipated physically without needing acknowledgement, and still my mind reels wondering what does any of this mean. I grasp for purpose, meaning, some label I can put upon the overflow of thoughts and unquelled stomach tossings that plague me by my own doing. And I just wish I knew what any of it meant. I wish I had a more concrete foundation from which to base my unsubstantiated claims of wonder and sickness. It is a coin with two faces, an unbound horse galavanting with no rules or mercy. It is the eye attached to the screen, needing rest but seeking stimuli. And still I write, and talk, and speak and paint and play trying to express what is ineffable, what is silent causation, and effortless triumph. I try to find a name to a creature that needs no definition, find meaning to a void that is born without you trying. I am trying the impossible, and it is tiring. But it is the same tiredness that arrests every creator to sit and work, to practice, play, learn, and unlearn, it is the same thread running through all of us allowing some sort of invisible unity to be visible to those who seek it. And yet it is still born of nothingness, of pure vacuum. It is the still air, the silent breeze, the trees rustling percussion amidst their arms and fingertips allowing you to feel the cold wind brush your cheeks as autumn pulls you into its arms and welcomes the dying winter. There is a name for all of this that I don't know, and I try to spell it with a new language to escape the limits of the ones I was taught. And no tongue or dialect has yet to fully explain what kind of world we live in, and why these ideas may reach to you and say something that I myself am not even able to directly communicate. It is constant metaphor and mental irrigation. Digging routes for the water to flow, avoiding the estuaries and seawater so as not to make soil infertile and incapable of moving life. The dirt is sacred and the concrete is cold, unforgiving; a symbol of mindless power brought to incapacitate the wind rustling through the grass and foliage that once stood in its place. There is nothing. The cold space between you and I is actually everything. Everything else is a labyrinth of complexities and fragile character flaws, bending and moving in an effort to not snap and lose its will. And still I wait, and anticipate another catalyst to possibly understand this more, and hope that it isn't a mere act of climbing a rocky precipice only to have your footing come loose and rain pieces of earth as you plummet down the mountainside. I hope it is not the latter, but still I push on in an effort to gather enough food to last the wintertime. I must push through banality in an effort to further understand these things that create the illustrious elixirs of magic and pain. Unless this is all ceaseless speculation as a distraction from the fact that I love you.
