Welcome to this season's Liquid Sessions mix. Over the past few months I have really been feeling releases from the likes of Artificial Intelligence, Dawn Wall, LSB, Alix Perez and Tokyo Prose - and their sounds seem to fit well in a winter themed mix. There is also the usual array of older tracks, my personal favourites being those by Chase & Status, Commix and Logistics. The opening track by LSB is one I have had my eye on for a long time now, and may well be my favourite liquid tune of 2015.

Liquid Sessions 004 - Winter Warmer

Welcome to the fifth episode of Liquid Sessions. This mix has been a pretty long time in the making, but it's meant there is plenty of new music from the last few months included. 
There's a huge amount of fresh D&B talent coming through at the moment, and I have tried to reflect that in here - so noteable mentions go to Pola & Bryson, Dualistic, Telomic and The Vanguard Project. 
A personal favourite of mine has to be the title track, Heart of Gold by FD, which in my opinion is a flawless liquid tune and sums up everything I love about the scene. 
Other highlight releases for me recently include new albums by the likes of Tecnhimatic, Logistics and Keeno.

Liquid Sessions 005 - Heart of Gold

After a year-long hiatus Liquid Sessions returns! I finally upgraded my setup from the Traktor S2 I have been using for the past 4 years to a pair of Technics - so the past couple of months have been spent getting to grips with vinyl and working on this mix.

There have been a LOT of liquid albums released this year from some of my favourite artists in the scene, so its been a lot of fun incorporating their elements into one mix. Notable mentions go to Nu:Logic, Hybrid Minds, Goldie, Dexcell and Hugh Hardie, so make sure you check out their LPs if you haven’t already. Also, I have taken a bit of a liberty with the liquid subgenre by including tunes such as ‘Cocooned’ and ‘Take My Breath Away’, but both tracks are massive and it would have been rude not to sneak them in somewhere.

2014 has been an incredible year for drum & bass, seeing some of my favourite artists in the scene releasing their debut albums. While the rising popularity and chart success of dnb has been met with slight dilution and commercialisation at one end of the spectrum, there still remains a heavily underground following with releases of consistent quality on labels such as Spearhead, Shogun and Samurai Music.

Where there is an entire spectrum of drum & bass, this new mix series aims to showcase the liquid aspect of the genre, which in itself contains a massive range of sounds. From the melodic tones of Technimatic, Tokyo Prose and Lenzman, to the deeper realms of Rene LaVice, S.P.Y and Kimyan Law – the first episode of Liquid Sessions provides my take on liquid dnb as a whole. Packed full of my top tracks of the year combined with a handful of classics, this mix has been a true labour of love.

The days are finally getting longer and the sun is shining (for now), and its with this I present the Spring-season mix. This episode is the second in the Liquid Sessions series, which aims to provide a journey through the spectrum of liquid drum & bass.
