The latest release on Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes MPathy and Øntold to the label for their debut EP. As a producer for over a decade, Berlin based MPathy has certainly found a comfortable home on German powerhouse Steyoyoke, with fifty-seven discography credits coming courtesy of the long-standing imprint. In addition to being an integral part of the beloved label, MPathy is also an accomplished DJ, being a fixture of Berlin's nightlife as well taking his immaculate sounds to some of the world's trendiest venues and biggest festivals. Meanwhile, Iranian artist Øntold has also achieved measurable success across his near five-year career. His astral sound has found a home on Sequence, Steyoyoke, Us & Them and his own Squarenoise Records imprint, while earning support from Dubfire, Øostil and Tale Of Us, among others. Now, combining their extensive forces for the first time, MPathy and Øntold debut on Movement Recordings with ‘Sakkara', alongside a remix from Unseen.

The title track ‘Sakkara' sets the tone for the release with a darker dancefloor monochrome. MPathy and Øntold create a dominating presence with rocketing beats and powerful synth flares, as driving percussion and elastic-like basslines flow through ominous chord changes. A haunting break sits at the heart of the journey, bringing with it a sense of drama and tension through dystopian-style atmospheres, before tastefully building to a stripped down finale of buzzing lines and buoyant rhythmic structures. The companion piece ‘Asa' finds Mpathy and Øntold calling on the vocal talents of John M for an even darker look into the duo's studio repertoire. With a peak-time energy that exudes spirit, the duo perfectly marries titanium coated kick drums and clustered effects with John's haunting vocals, in turn creating a spoken word story to captivate the mind and body. Evolving further across a short but impactful break, it's a series of clustered claps which provides a mature crescendo, ultimately leading to a vocal driven finale. Also included for the less vocally inclined DJs out there is an instrumental version which makes this even more playable for all the adventurous selectors.

Making his label debut with the lone interpretation of ‘Asa' is Unseen. Adrian Barrin, also known as Unseen., is a visionary artist who emerged onto the Melodic House & Techno scene in 2018. With a keen focus on blending melodic elements and emotional depth, Unseen. has established himself as a trailblazer in the industry with releases via Heinz Music, Steyoyoke and his own Lelantus Records. Having made his debut on label affiliate Astral Records in 2022 with a contribution to the Celestial, Pt. 2 collection, Unseen. now makes his Movement Recordings debut with a stunning rendition of ‘Asa'. While maintaining the dark spirit of the original, Unseen. aims squarely at a peak hour dancefloor with a sweeping sonic experience all his own, deconstructing the vocal and adding his own array of astral artefacts for an exhilarating sonic experience.

FINNEST music presents, Around the World, a series of compilations where it shows the talent of many artists from different countries, in its first release, Panama Gems selected by Sergio Bennett and mixed by the veteran Panamanian artist Charles Bell. In the first place, Our First Time' by Glenn Gonzalez, one of the most important electronic music producers in Panama, owner of the 'Midnight Movement' label, first class deep house with an increasing progressive sound and a mix sublime, the bassline and the kick drive the track while the pads and melodies are in charge of telling the story, fantastic. As the second cut, 'Room 1993' by Rick González, a Panamanian artist who makes his world debut as a producer with FINNEST with this brutal track full of groove, with a vocal and some melodic stabs that will hymnotize you, has a sound of the 2000s fascinating, we love it too much. It is the turn of the residents, the Venezuelan DartZero75 based in Panama and a fundamental pillar of the nights on Selina's rooftop in the heart of Casco Antiguo, along with his partner Mōiqe bring us, 'Tribal Analog' a track with Afro House sounds very fresh with the essence of her country in the rhythmic base and piano melodies that transcend beyond the human ear, the drop is perfect to explode the dance floor. Very cool! The fourth track comes from one of the house artists, and an important part of the scene in the country, Gerard R, also a Venezuelan living in Panama already signed to our sister label Yet Records, presents us with 'Bam Bam', a minimal deep cut with a spectacular groove and a solid base that makes clubs with great sound equipment tremble from their foundations, the vocal stabs finish completing this great work, nice. As fifth cut, 'Hip Hip Oh' by the Colombians 'Bryan Kush' and 'Nicholls (Col)' both based in Panama, the latter being responsible for the management of the famous promoter 'Booth' in the country. With minimal sound we can fly through the effects that the guys have used on the track, the base sounds very forceful and the vocal with hip hop nuances just drives us crazy, the scratch effect is very original and different from the usual, Bravo! The last cut of the compilation is by an artist from the interior, 'Nislo Rudas' born in Panama and with a notable international career, he delights us with 'Voices', the most minimal track of the release, with nuances of the Romanian sound that makes us immerse ourselves in an unprecedented melodic atmosphere, the crunchy background is essential and the vocals give it the necessary stop to be able to explode again, the low frequencies are in their precise place and everything sounds beautiful. Brilliant. To finish we can enjoy a Dj Mix by Charles Bell, one of the best curators in the country and with the greatest weight in the scene, if you want to consolidate yourself in the city, you must have his blessing hehehe, great job friend!
