I sat cross legged below the sheer cliffs misted in lilac, and as I looked up, the clouds coated in thin fragile glass grew larger and larger. As the mist rose upon me, I saw that the lilacs had faded, all I could hear were the waves collapsing against the soaring cliffs of the promised land.

I felt my chest growing light, as if somehow I knew the tranquility of the moment was fading.

...the mist spread itself further, in loops, all encompassing;
my breathe leaves me, indistinguishable from its surroundings in all the quantum.

I almost forgot to put my makeup on, “nevermind that now” I thought,
the gods rarely turned down offerings on the basis of appearance, much less on nights of the harvest.

brrrrrpt! Fireflies were colliding in the dusk light, the buzz of cicadas grew louder and it was time for, for uuuuhm …

Noise fades I sit down again hmmm the roots of the fire tree strangle me I blacked out. I found myself fading into the same darkness i called sleep, as the cicadas sang my requiem in hypnagogia, while the bugs buzzed around me.

Thoughts flowing. All my life I thought I was living, but now, as I am falling deeper into this relentless state devoid of connection to my past self... I just realised - I am barely even existing.

The thing i was scared of the most, turned out to be already me.

Paralyzed, i asked myself...
