ODTD037 sees the Øddity return of SOEL and Rinzen after featuring individually on Odd Echoes VAs. Now these two exciting producers combine to full effect over an extended release after significant melodic techno works for Afterlife, TAU, Bedrock, NOTTURNA and Last Night On Earth.

Title track ‘Meliora’ grabs your attention straight away with its driving 4/4 beat, dark ringing keys and deep sub bass. Rich stirring synth lines enter giving a sense of warmth, with emotions heightened across an extended breakdown that teases the audience as they wait for that inevitable release of energy. The drop is tasteful and certainly doesn’t disappoint. ‘Meliora’ is perfect for long summer sets on a moonlit terrace or a hot dark club with a big sound system.

‘Beauty in the Midst of Uncertainty’ takes us deeper into the minds of SOEL and Rinzen across an expansive journey that pulls you into its cavernous core. The bass keys throb and pulse, as angular arps take aim from the speakers - before you know it you’re caught up in a maelstrom of sound, blissfully pinned to the dance-floor as the rising sea of arms wave in unison, living in the purity of that moment.

‘Patterned Chaos’ sees the two artists stretch out over a pulsating melodic techno DJ tool. Punchy yet crisp beats and echoed cymbal crashes set an intense groove while the arpeggiated theme seizes your attention. The notes slow down and then gain in tempo - swirling and hypnotizing the listener as the intensity dial is twisted up to 11 before taking you to the finish with a broody dark relentless groove.
Rinzen closes thing off with his solo production ‘A World Too Late’ - textured and poignant, yet upbeat and warm its a great way to finish the EP as the melodies fill the room. One of those tracks that makes you go in for a further play after the beats ride out.

The US & UK based producers mark their debut with two exquisite progressive and melodic techno influenced track, which are easily one of their best bodies of works to date. The opening track 'Whistler' features rich driving textures; as well as euphoric and moody progressive melodic techno vibes to satisfy clubbing, uplifting and feel-good needs, which are the keywords for this fine-sounding and extraordinary release. Utilizing a hypnotizing groove as the basis of the mix underpinned by a deep bass that gradually eases its way to the breakdown of breaks before unleashing into a rising melodic hook intertwined with the infectious groove that fades in and out for maximum effect. The accompanying track 'Prestigeaux' delivers dance floor-oriented progressive vibes to het any dancefllor moving. The track is interspersing with roomy glowing love, filtered stabs and stunning groove which beautifully leads into a drop full of tension and excitement, with the understated yet driving bassline powering the groove along. The duo manages to keep the energy up, allowing the driving melodic house feel to shine thru over the many layers and textures to create a beautiful soundscape to round off this classy underground crowd pleaser.

Berlin producer Kevin De Vries has emerged as one of the capital's most hotly tipped newcomers since his track ”Eternity" appeared on Adam Beyer's Drumcode label in 2016. Besides such luminaries as Beyer, Sven Vath and Richie Hawtin, Tale Of Us have also recognised his talent, paying De Vries the compliment of featuring his track "Path To Immortality" on their Fabric 97 CD this year. If that’s not enough they’ve also given Kevin a place of honour on their very own Afterlife label compilation in the form of "Magoa".

Which brings us to the matter in hand. De Vries' debut for Cocoon is characterised by significantly higher levels of impulsive energy without ever losing sight of his instinctive feel for harmony. "Meraki" speckles shimmering harmonic textures over the structured bass end, reminiscent of sunlight reflecting on turbulent seas - absolutely perfect for dancing through long summer nights! Teaming up with canadian friend Weska "Sonorous" orchestrates a tropical heatwave before the cyclical after-hour techno of "My Blurred Dream" brilliantly rounds off this heavy duty 3-tracker.
