Chapter 2

I've loved this song since its release so I decided to take a stab at covering it. This is my first recording using my new Starcaster which is why the guitars sound so much "beefier" than past uploads. I also added a synth bass and blended it with the rhythm guitar. I sort of half-assed the vocals as I thought it would end up being a throwaway take, but after cranking up the pitch correction I found myself thinking it was kind of similar to the effects of the original track so I let it be.

For Tarot card no. 3 of the Major Arcana, I have tried to make a cross between a lullaby and a nocturne to musically express the Night Garden of the dreaming seeds of the Empress.

3. The Empress

'POLAR NiGHT' is an atmospheric Dark-Pop track, with a trip-hop vibe, and haunting, harmonic female vocals. The song is driven by hard-hitting, slow-tempo, acoustic drum patterns, and low-end electronic bass, and backed by melancholic piano notes, strings, and a synth-hook that drives the melody of the track. 

With a third-act drop, the song switches to a more euphoric and electronic style, building on the harmonic vocals and highlighting the emotional impact. 

The somber yet uplifting vocals navigate a trip through a Polar Night… that is stricken with sorrow… yet defiant in hope.
