Catherine Danger is a sound and visual artist based in Brussels. In her practice, she experiments with a multitude of textures that are designed to be altered or modified. For the 50th occurrence of our mix series she presents an hour of beautifuly compiled abstract sounds. Catherine is no stranger to the realms of experimental and obscure, with a distinguished sound and out of the ordinary tape releases on underground outputs such as Simple Music Experience. Another milestone worth mentioning is her audiovisual label 2files4free, that was launched in 2018 with Daya Hallé, a label focused on the combination of sound and visual production, through a multiplicity of artists, hybrid projects and experiments.

Adriana Camacho and Stefan Christoff recently released Años y Minutos, a collaboration recorded on a sunny winter day in CDMX last year. Released by Boston's Moon Villain label, Años y Minutos features the two prolific improvisers delicately exploring new sonic territory. Camacho, a Mexico City based improviser and double-bass player, grounds Christoff's cascading piano tones, occasionally contributing bells and flutes as well. To celebrate the release of this record, the duo have created a joint mix, Un Pájaro Azul, named after a track on the album, weaving together selections from their tape with works by friends, trying to capture the spirit of inquiry and openness in playing that is foundational to their collaboration.

For our new tape reissue, we are very honored to present a limited remastered edition of 'Postcards From Arrakis' by legendary Belgian duo Bene Gesserit, first released by Ding Dong Records and Tapes in 1983. This reissue contains an unreleased version of "Funny Toys (Dedicated To Friends)" with Daniel Malempré on bass guitar.

Bene Gesserit is a husband and wife band founded by Trazegniet's natives Alain Neffe and Nadine Bal. Since the early 80's to this day, they have been both involved in several projects, as solo or in bands, like Human Flesh, Pseudo Code, I Scream, Japanese Genius, Subject or Cortex for Alain and Ornament and Crime Arkhestra for Nadine. Bene Gesserit's material was mostly self-released but had been also featured on various compilations and hosted by several labels like EE Tapes, Stroom, Minimal Wave, Calypso Now, etc.

Vienna's young youngster Paul and Leonard are starting the Westbahn series with a 7 inches - Open your mind wild between "!" and "?" - two punctuation marks that are focusing on underlining the senses of the language.

The 7’’ record containing two tracks (? + !) comes with an extra 300g silk print of a drawing by Leonard. Both tracks were mixed by Sam Irl in Vienna and Mastered by Wouter Brandenburg in Amsterdam.

The Danish label/imprint arbitrary announces the release of Framework 3 (arbitrary11) by Mads Emil Nielsen. Framework 3 is the latest instalment in Nielsen’s sequence of graphic scores and recordings. The series includes the Danish composer’s own subjective translations of visual materials and sound pieces accompanied by visual notations.

On this release he collaborates with Katja Gretzinger and Nicola Ratti. Published as a limited edition art print folder, Framework 3 consists of risographed scores and recordings on 10” vinyl and CD – with recordings by Nielsen, along with graphic scores by Gretzinger and contributions by Ratti.
