Alexey Fon.Leman was so phenomenally prolific in original productions and remixes this year and it seemed he should have stopped bombing the scene with all those impressive releases. Moreover, his debut artist album is almost here, we can see the sings of his forthcoming long play on the horizon. But no, this Yekaterinburg-based producer from the Russian region of Urals has some extra surprises stashed, and once again he is ready to impress. Yet another premiere from Alexey is coming soon, this time it’s an original production – Fon.Leman continues to hearten his audience and lets Intricate Records release «Lynx Eye» very soon. As an additional weighty argument comes a remix by the prominent Australian producer Jaytech, who is responsible for A&R works on the worldwide-renown Anjunadeep label. «Lynx Eye» for me personally is a sort of graduate qualification work of 2013, my graduation thesis release, – Alexey explains responsibly. – I was doing my best to combine all the elements of today’s’ trends, to build up a quintessence of modern «flying» progressive sound. Inside this track you will hear all the specific details I was developing in my sound this year, these are rhythmic vocal cuts, solid house rhythms and progressive trance leads which also contain a tad of mysticism ».

Globally acclaimed trance & progressive veteran Robert Nickson has been a leader in our scene for well over a decade. It has been our great honor to work with Robert in recent years, as he continues to contribute deeper progressive sounds to our imprint, under his RNX guise.

His latest EP includes a wonderful collaboration with Paul Mads, "Whatever," which first appeared (in mixed form only) on Shingo Nakamura's "Only Silk 03" compilation. A chilled progressive house groove and after-hours soundscape, highlighted by a jazzy keyboard motif, establishes a soothing and sensual mood. In the main break, we're met with an infectious vocal sample, which helps carry the more uptempo latter half of the track.

The B-side, "Joshua Tree," sinks into even deeper territory, especially in the opening build of the arrangement. We're met with ominous pads and a recurring, hypnotic lead synth line, setting the stage for a sonic revelation in the main break. Joshua Tree's rugged beauty is well documented by casual travelers and spiritual seekers alike; Robert depicts the "awakening" one can experience while hiking there in the form of a breathtaking symphony of synth layers in the song's climax.

On the heels of a career-defining year, Andromedha continues to ascend the ranks of the trance & progressive house elite, courtesy of a bevy of exceptional new releases and remixes in recent months on esteemed imprints Black Hole, JOOF and Planet Love. His two-track offering here, "Rise," is a long overdue follow up to last January's "Watching The Red Clouds Passing By" release on our imprint, which introduced listeners to his emotive and layered compositional style, for which the Polish sensation has now made a name. 

The anthemic "Rise" served as the emotional climax of Jacob Henry's recent "Silk Music Showcase 06" mix; this DJ-friendly version fully showcases the gorgeously constructed arrangement. A stormy bassline in the early going is soon joined by a hypnotic lead theme and a series of gentle, siren-like vocals. The musical tension created by these elements is finally released in the main breakdown, when a triumphant piano theme cuts through the mix and ultimately carries the arrangement into an ecstatic drop.

The brand-new "Away From Heavens" jets out of the gate with an adrenalin-inducing groove; evocative pads and mellifluous, celestially inspired melodies reinforce the suspenseful soundscape. In the main breakdown, a vintage progressive trance breakdown emerges, including the introduction of a rapturous new lead theme, which is enveloped by seemingly myriad melodic layers. The electrifying drop offers an especially intense catharsis for the listener.

New dance music trends are quickly filling the dancefloors around the globe and the producers responsible for these innovations, standing at the forefront of this movement, sooner or later become top-level artists. Intricate Records, founded in early 2012 by Alexey Sonar, PROFF, Sergey Tkachev and Vadim Soloviev, to date has formed a label team and a loyal community of listeners and clubbers – fans of progressive and melodic house. Very recently the launch of the sublabel Intricate Cuts was announced, it is going to become an outpost for deep and tech house releases of Intricate Records’ residents and new names. Nowadays Intricate Records is one of the key players on the field of progressive and melodic house, it is active both on the native territory of Russia and former Soviet countries, another important mission of Intricate Records is the export of Russian sound to the countries of the world.
 
Consistently inviting both well-known producers and newcomers from all geographic locations to sign their music to Intricate Records, the label has accumulated a catalog of 29 releases during the first year of activity. You can find tracks by Intricate artists in the DJ crates and cases almost everywhere. Since the launch in 2012, the label has formed a specific concept and musical policy which distinguish Intricate from partners and competitors. Right before the summer 2013 begins, Intricate Records is ready to proudly announce the label’s long-awaited debut compilation «Intricate Sessions Vol. 01 Mixed by PROFF & Vadim Soloviev» which seamlessly unites the art of mixing and exceptional musical taste of the authors plus unique audio content – many exclusive productions were intentionally written and submitted for this project and have never been published before. While listening to both parts of the debut compilation, you will get an idea of the entire current sound spectrum of Intricate Records including works by the label’s founders as well as residents and prominent names like Boom Jinx, Answer42, Sezer Uysal, Suspect 44 and Matt Fax.

«Vladimir PROFF and me have already compiled mix CDs for various projects in the past, but those were explicitly limited by the labels’ catalogs or some other circumstances. This time the situation is completely different, – Vadim Soloviev reveals some of the details. – While working on the first volume of Intricate Sessions and being in the preparative phase, we felt like gleaning for the smallest bricks for the compilation framework, including a number of unsigned and unreleased productions. As a consequence, my mix totally corresponds with my current vision of modern electronic dance music, my personal taste and preferences, and globally with the musical philosophy of Intricate Records. This means, first of all, progressive sound in it’s classical form, both melodic and dancefloor-friendly, but not big-room arena style. Besides that, I added some deep house and progressive trance, plus even some proper, high-quality  electro house. Each track here deserves special attention, many works have been recorded exclusively for this compilation and I would like to highlight that some of the artists have shown their totally different creative sides, that is surprisingly amazing».
