As we’re only human, of course we let ourselves be shaped. In our younger years, we soak up beliefs and ideas just like a sponge and some of these later turn into personal values. They lead us in several directions, but ultimately, it’s up to us to follow our internal compass. Or to put it simply: “Do what feels right.”

THYMIAN has taken this idea to heart, creating only the music that truly resonates with his adult self. On “Sentimental”, pop structures meet a refreshingly familiar sonic aesthetic. His baritone vocals float over strummed guitars, that harmonize beautifully with gentle synthesizer melodies. The saxophone solo by Ferran Gorrea transports listeners back to the 80s with a dash of goosebumps.

A year from releasing his debut EP 'Full of Wonder', Astles is back with his highly anticipated new single 'Grey Skies'.

The Liverpool based Singer-Songwriter doesn’t shy away from his catchy melodies and meaningful lyrics on Grey Skies, “It’s about the ups and downs you face in life and making sense of them all, sometimes it feels like the rain wont ever stop but it does. I’ve learn’t to try and make the best of myself during these low points”, Astles reveals.

Taking inspiration from the likes of John Lennon and the Beach Boys, Astles succeeds in wanting to create a dramatic live feel to Grey Skies whilst leaving a very poignant relatable message.

Grey Skies is out on Friday (30th Nov) and will be available to stream on all streaming platforms.
