Louis McCoy is a master craftsman in every sense of the word. A legend of a human behind much loved local underground institutions the likes of Inner Varnika and For Home Use Only, and an expert on the tools be it in the kitchen or on a building site, Louis first and foremost is a passionate music obsessor with a savant like ear for records that cut deep. 

Sometimes found under the cheekier guise of hndsm, Louis seriously knows whats up when it comes to 90s music from the UK, and focusses his attention here on the massively influential sound of trip hop that he grew up nodding his head to as a teen. Treating us to near-on three hours of raw and dusty underground classics from the roots of the 90s Bristol trip hop movement, we find ourselves deep beneath the murky waters of the reggae and the shoegaze infused, to moments of heavy, emotion packed atmospheric soul and a healthy dose of the all out experimental. One for the OG chillout heads, this really is a trip like no other!

what we find episode ten featuring Nessim. Nessim is an Amsterdam-based DJ & event organiser, who currently holds residencies at Echobox radio & the listening space Murmur. Nessim has shared his sound and collection across many studios and online streams including kiosk radio, future intel, radio radio, and department tapes.

For this contribution, Lucas put this together in the early morning in the Belgian countryside, travelling by train to Paris. Included are some recent finds, & some older favourites from artists like gi gi, jabir, eustress, and more. Thank you to Lucas for sharing the great mix.

EYMS is turning the lights back on and dusting off the tape deck with the debut release of “Collected Pieces” from Morpheme. Currently based in Chicago, the duo of Alyssa Beers and Andrew Bisenius followed their love of synthpop to offer six songs exploring existential angst, honesty, and the idea of freedom. Utilizing an array of synthesizers and drum machines to accompany manipulated voice and guitar, Morpheme creates a sound that is simultaneously brooding and emotional yet playful and inviting.

Having previously released as Wav Fuzz (Lizard Label, Bed of Roses, Les Yeux Orange), along with collaborations on An Anomaly (Offen Music) and The Creative Technology Consortium (Dark Entries Records) – Andrew’s work with Alyssa, known to many under their adventurous and irreverent DJ alias Nishkosheh, takes a left turn towards infectious pop. The two have been a source of creative inspiration for each other for the past decade, their musical collaboration inevitable. Collected Pieces was written and produced in 2024 at their home studio.

Pacific Northwest based Gumar aka Break Mode (Bed of Roses, Byrd Out, Ransom Note) rounds off the EP with two digital bonus remixes of “Somebody to Love” by stripping down the group’s cover and taking it in a heavier industrial direction. A long time friend of Morpheme as well as a prolific producer and DJ with numerous aliases (Wormbox, Freak Out!, and Cafe del Gumar) he takes many forms, and these remixes demonstrate his penchant for the darker side.

His DJ career may stretch back significantly further than his relatively young list of production credits, but his deep, smooth, and often intricately unusual tracks have been garnering praise since they began appearing in 2007. Ahead of his debut album, "The $ Of Non-Conformance", Keith sat down with Inverted Audio to give us his thoughts on DJing, Detroit and production.
